  1. If I were Omar Minaya, I would be seriously tempted to, if Duaner Sanchez holds up, slip Heilman into the rotation.
  2. I kind of agree with Hank on that one. Yanks need another dominant starter to go along with Wang. Joba has more potential along those lines than Hughes or Kennedy. It is tempting, though, to groom Chamberlain as the next Rivera.
  3. Yeah - Valentine used to do the same thing with Armando Benitez back in the day, with similar results.
  4. Nobody is that good pitching four straight days. Looking at his stats, he is not really that bad.
  5. That said, here goes: Any so-called punk or hardcore that doesn't sound like it was recorded on a boombox in a basement is neither punk nor hardcore. Both Ryan Adams and Ani DeFranco put out too many albums for any one of them to be any more than 20 percent good. Anyone who really likes Tori Amos obviously hasn't heard Kate Bush. Starting in about 1977 or so, the Ramones totally mailed it in live. If white people didn't like hip hop, there would be little to no hip hop.
  6. It is my firm opinion that this thread should stick to blaspheme and not fighting about the blaspheme.
  7. How does Columbus have a hockey team and not Cleveland?
  8. And if it was the Dave Matthews Band, I would castrate myself.
  9. And to think I was actually going to apply for a second job.
  10. Theoretically, yes, but it may not be working out in some locations. The league is probably six teams too big for its own good, but I haven't heard anyone talk contraction yet.
  11. Springsteen was not the future of rock 'n' roll. Run-DMC was. I would turn down hot sex if I had to listen to Norah Jones while it was going on.
  12. Either Ebbets Field Flannels or the Cooperstown Ballcap Co. can hook you up for ALL your Cangrejeros needs.
  13. The Northeastern U.S. has been bleeding population for decades to the South and Southwest, so it wasn't a huge defiance of logic to think that teams located near populations of transplanted hockey fans would succeed. While I don't think the Old Six is coming back anytime soon, some transplantation (Cleveland without a hockey team?) might make sense.
  14. Woo-hoo! I have often wondered why churches use those bizarre Communion wafers for the Eucharist and not matzo, which is what was at l'ultime soulper.
  15. Anything's gotta be better than Thomas. What a dillweed.
  16. Thank God Isiah is gone. I support the restoration of Jeff Van Gundy.
  17. This Monday's American Experience will be about Roberto Clemente.
  18. The Hasidim dropped off some matzo at the office yesterday. It was good!
