  1. I can see hating LaRussa, but Pujols seems to be all class. I reserve the right to change that assessment after he is linked in some way to steroids or HGH.
  2. All Nick Cave, all day. Murder Ballads, Boatman's Call, Lyre & Abbatoir Blues.
  3. I think that is a perfectly fine and funny thing to do. The Pujol's comments were much more offensive but then he hit that home run off Glavine and, well, that kind of settled that..
  4. Where did I say that it was evidence that he didn't cheat? I said that he probably did cheat, but that it was ultimately the Cardinals' poor hitting that lost them this game. In that regard, his cheating becomes a non-issue. Maybe he cheated for the first inning, maybe for the whole game, maybe for every playoff game he's been a part of. But who cares? Pine tar isn't like throwing an invisibility cloak over the baseball. I won't argue that it probably helps, but it's not like Jason Marquis or somebody equally awful could go out there with pine tar's assistance and throw a no hitter.
  5. Good, good. Now we're getting somewhere.
  6. Make them replace their website with yours for six months.
  7. I wish the Cardinals would have shelled after the second so we could make a big deal out of this but they didn't. It's not good to cheat, and he probably was cheating, but the Cardinals complete ineptitude with the baseball bat lost them this game. Juan Encarnacion looked like he was legally blind all night at the plate. Swinging at sounds like a bat on the hunt.
  8. I have never found the Shins to be all that great and this one doesn't seem to be changing my mind. Decent, but it won't change your life*. *Somebody had to do it.
  9. Yeah, that was surprising to say the least. Reyes has shown previously that he can be that good, but I wasn't expecting him to be that good. Nice that he had some run support behind him. Can't wait for tonight. I was at a wedding last night and didn't get to see an ounce of the game.
  10. I thought it was pretty weak, but I have only listened once so that may change. Didn't even sound like the same band to me.
  11. I vote Cardinals in six to keep my father's heart from exploding. I had to call him last night after that ninth inning to make sure he was still alive.
  12. Ha, I just pulled it out of the dryer with that exact thing in mind.
  13. Wow. What a game that turned out to be. Jeeeeesus. I'm very excited right now.
  14. I liked my chances much, much better last night with Carpenter going. Suppan is radically inconsistent and you never want to play a game seven on the road, especially in New York.
  15. "I could beat up Graham's dad, easy." -paraphrase of my dad, an asskicker.
  16. Gross. Looks like I'll be failing my Friday exam...
  17. This sounds about right. Nine ounces Miller Light, two ounces milk, one teaspoon Quik.
  18. That was fun tonight. This is turning out to be quite the series. Up and down and up and down and up. Hopefully it ends tomorrow.
  19. Yeah, but I'm not going to be around tomorrow night. And really, I think less rest for Glavine favored the Cardinals more than less rest for Weaver favored the Mets. We'll have to see what happens. Or, in my case, read what happened after it's over.
  20. And it didn't look like playoff baseball, either. That play with Edmonds, Encarnacion, and whoever standing there watching the ball drop between them in the fifth pretty much summed up the night for the Cardinals. Yuck. Luckily that was the only play I saw because it seems like the rest of it was just as ugly....
  21. Along with thirty other books for school.
