Apparently Jeff Tweedy is going to be on Marketplace tonight on NPR. Check it out.
-
This is how I felt before I heard it. And while I'm not hanging on its release (I don't think I do this anymore), I am more excited about it. Maybe just to see if it sounds good without Jeff Tweedy in the room with me... But anyway, take that for what you will. I think it could surprise a lot of people.

And the Greinke streak ends.

Is this a rhetorical question?

New Conor Oberst "solo" record -- "Outer South"
explodo replied to redpillbox's topic in Someone Else's Song
Taylor Hollingsworth sings on "Air Mattress." Not huge on that particular song, but that guy is awesome (though I think he might believe this about himself a little too much). Probably the best musician, technically, in the gang. -
It's another member of this fine community. At 25, I still can't grow a beard. I can, however, grow just enough facial hair to look awkward. That is my style right now.

This thread is terrible.

New Conor Oberst "solo" record -- "Outer South"

This record kind of reminds me of a Golden Smog album. -
Fuckers.

Pontiac sold close to 20,000 vehicles in March. Buick, Cadillac, and Saturn sold less than 9,000. And Hummer sold less than 1,000. Chevy dominated, with nearly 100,000 vehicles sold, but it is kind of weird to axe your third most popular brand (GMC sold more than Pontiac). And that is all probably because Pontiac's are relatively cheap or they make cheap models, but how much does it cost to make cars that are, internally, the same as some of your other lines that you are still making?

It concerns me that the Lakers habitually lose twenty point leads in the fourth quarter. And the Denver / New Orleans score.....I saw it online, just the numbers, and assumed it was a typo. It's unbelievable.

God, I hope not. I don't hate anybody quite like I hate the Red Sox (well, excepting the Cubs). I would think the Cardinals would do all they can, but I'm not sure if they can do enough compared to teams like both New Yorks/Boston/LA. I'm kind of hoping that his deep ties to the community keep him there for less money, but I'm scared to death about the whole thing already. No matter what happens, it's going to be interesting.

The internet told me that the Packers won the draft!

I seem to remember a fair amount of discussion about "Closer" from ye' olde NIN. Not that saying "I want to fuck you like an animal" is anything too crazy. I say that most people.

I think it's going to be called "Random People Bundled Up in Milwaukee with Dogs: The Album"
-
They obviously won't keep playing this well all year, but I think Tony LaRussa and Dave Duncan are chronically undervalued.
-
Yeah, it is way too early to start speculating, but if their pitching holds up, they are going to be tough to beat (though those two teams you mentioned aren't playing at even half the level they're capable of).

I'll be the insensitive prick in the bunch: A little melodramatic, no? God help the guy if he ever ends up with something life threatening. BUT, I do understand that it is awful to be injured and without insurance, so I'm hoping somebody steps up and organizes a benefit that really makes a dent in the cost. And I agree with Cryptique on the Wilco front.

I am pretty pumped about the Raji pick. Thank the fucking lord they didn't take Crabtree (not that I doubt his talent, but in terms of needs...).
-
Sexy. But yeah, like I said, we'll just have to wait and see. He seems to have worked hard in college and I think a lot of combine and pre-draft crap is overblown, so I'm optimistic.

I suppose every band has to do it, but I have never liked it.

We'll revisit this theory in four years.
