Show starts in a half hour, anyone gonna join me? Eta: I guess show starts at 7:30 not 7 So I guess the dead have a i-phone application. Today featured this post: Looks like something special is going down. This is supposedly the only venue the band played in every decade. The dead played some 53 shows in the venue. First set in 68 last in 95. The venue is getting knocked down in the near future. Being a philly native I'm quite sad to see it go. Lots of great memories of the place, first dylan show, caught phish there twice, slew of events with my family. The Dead i

comparing i threw it all away with life is hard is laughable to say the least. BTW you might want to use that neat spell check feature, this is coming from someone who long ignored it. Also do you get high and then choose to post or do you decide you want to post so you get high.

Tomorrow night live stream from philly night 2. Hope to see some of you hanging round. You can listen via sirus, if you don't have an account you can make a free trail one (if you did last time, you can use a different email).

Yes, they were way better with their instruments then calculators. Mickey Harts father stole a large sum of money of them during the early seventies while managing the band which led to Mickeys departure for several years. I believe they also lost a lot of money on the "wake of the flood" album, which should have done well (great tracks and a good follow up to American Beauty) but I believe the album was bootlegged by the mob.

indeed, although he was overusing the scat/bass thing he does a bit last time is saw BK3

I hadn't herd much of Scott, still don't know much about him. But they have a new bassist, which is who I was referring too.

I think the spiderman is the best thing that ever happened to U2, now I really have no reason to take them seriously (as if "The Edge" wasn't reason enough.

To whom it may concern, jolly joke has sbds up of both nights of the worcester run.

Don't know if people ever figured any more out about this track but. Here is an excerpt from a John Lennon interview with Tariq Ali, I think he clearly mentions the recording we now have a hold of. TA: In a way you were even thinking about politics when you seemed to be knocking revolution? JL: Ah, sure, 'Revolution' . There were two versions of that song but the underground left only picked up on the one that said 'count me out'. The original version which ends up on the LP said 'count me in' too; I put in both because I wasn't sure. There was a third version that was just abstract, musiqu

I would bet my paycheck on it.

Set one from tonight is streaming now at http://www.gdradio.net/ Enjoy! ETA: Currently listening to the Baby Blue, the cut isn't bad one thing is missing: a solid lead. Warren is way to tentative, I know its been said before but its a damn shame they don't have Sless or Kimcock on lead.

So I checked it out, the space was really cool, was not expecting the melodic playing from bob and jerry, very cool very chill. The Throwing Stones was really good as well. I found this soundboard at archive thats up, i don't know why it wasn't taken down but you can download it. http://www.archive.org/details/gd1983-10-1...-aud.12617.shnf

Could they do it? Do they even have an interest in new music? I find it weird how little material has come out in the past 15 years, but then again they weren't exactly cranking them out at the end either.

I believe this was the first dead show Trey went too. I can't even imagine the energy in the room when that hit. I'm throwing this on my ipod and checking it out on my way to work.
-
Thats the hartford bust out right? weren't you at that show?
-
Thanks, while the dead have always improvised I wonder what prompted the start dedicating a portion of the second set to this avant garde music. Does it state what was the first date? Anyone have a favorite piece of space?
