  1. I know i'm gonna receive a beating but does anyone else think an extended break from touring wouldn't be a bad idea (if this rumor is indeed false). Watching clips from farm aid it just seemed like the band was going through the motions. I
  2. Ummm http://chicago.craigslist.org/nch/tix/1417792860.html yeah so I'm not going to take this as fact but does this person know something we dont? Sadly I can't say I don't think its the worst idea.
  3. I have herd that this is a great time. I was told that if you go, go early I guess you take a bus from the parking lot. Love me some Levon.
  4. If I lived in Afghanistan would I be cynic? How about Palestine? Maybe Honduras? Of what if I was from Cuba? Maybe Venezuela? Guam? How about if I needed health insurance? What if I was Gates? What if I was Kanye West? What if I lived in Pakistan?
  5. Sickened I am, surprised I am not. This action will help further ingrain the idea of Obama the bridge builder and further set in place the policies of the bush /obama (names becoming more and more interchangeable) administrations.
  6. Weird is an understatement. I threw up a little this morning.
  7. I had that as a kid and still play that track for people......classic.
  8. I mean why not just slice your wrists then................Ben please don't kill yourself I don't need that on my mind.
  9. But like I was just saying your not wallowing in "it" your wallowing in their "it" which more then likely is a lot different from your situation. Which potentially can ruin any chances of fixing your problems because neil young has screwed with your perspective.
  10. I wasn't saying that "Kind Of Blue" is break up music, like my post said the best music for emotional trauma is something that takes you out of your surroundings, which will help put things in perspective. I can't see how "blood on the tracks" is going to help anyone move on, except for Bob Dylan. The recording of that album (or many of the ones mentioned in this thread) helped the artist transcend their troubles. Maybe the best break up music is your own.
  11. No offense to Ben but......... Does anyone else feel that "break up music" is not what one needs immediately after the fact? I recently got in a serious fight with my other half and threw some music on after she left which I had to turn off. When I finally was relaxed the last thing I wanted to hear was some guy sing about his love problems that were nothing like my own. The thing that soothes me after emotional trauma is something that takes me away from whatever I just went through. This sort of reminds me of when my Uncle passed away and I was looking for solace in my record collecti
  12. homegrown is being released?? Or is this speculation?
  13. haha I'm sure its terribly awesome. I have no problem "stealing music" but I'm definitely going to make this my first "purchase" since "in rainbows". I wish more artists of dylans stature would do charity records or at least do the wilco thing and offer the option.
  14. I was really happy to see this album make the list, I was even more happy to open this thread and not see one negative comment. As for me I'm pulling for "forever Changes" by love or Double Nickles
  15. Maybe you misunderstood but I wasn't declaring horseshit over the charity move. I was crying horseshit over the partnership with bank being "ironic". Last time I checked banks haven't been looking out for those who will benifit from the sales of "Christmas in the heart"
  16. Horse SHIT! THe Victoria secret thing was ironic, this is just disgusting.
  17. I just find it to be insulting I guess, it seems Billy would agree from his comments on Jambase. There is more to the grateful dead then vocal phrasing and guitar tones. I just think its laughable that anyone could claim to "re-create the grateful dead experience". In a way its almost a knock at the dead in that "anyone could do it", as if there wasn't something special that took the music to the next level. There just an over glorified bar band, that charges up to 40 dollars a head. If one were to say these guys "re-create" the experience, i would think they never actually got the m
  18. Man, this thread has really lost steam. Hehehe. I've been working like a dog since july thus my virtual disappearance. I see no talk of the Further shows on here so I take it no one attended. I listened to a bit of Friday night but was thoroughly creeped out. I do not get the Fake Jerry (DSO) guy at all or why anyone would want to here some hack play with Jerry's tone and then mimic his vocals. I don't even feel like giving this clone a shot. Anyone else weired out by the whole thing?
  19. Wow, neil never ceases to amaze. At times he seems so dame open minded and then he says shit like that. I remember reading some other harsh anti-gay comments in "shakey" but then he went and did the song for "Philadelphia" with the profits being donated to a gay mens health center, maybe he realized how wrong he was.
  20. Well, there was only one summer show (rothbury). But from the spring tour I really enjoyed The second night at Worcester, I also liked both shows with branford sitting in (E. Ruthford).
  21. Yikes this has been disappointing (granted I haven't herd the whole thing). The thing that stood out to me was how great M. Ward really is. Too me his musical presence is felt more then anyone elses on the record.
  22. Got some bad news folks, the band is called Further and features Phil on Bass, Bobby on Guitar, DSO's Fake Jerry, Jay Lane, Jeff Chiminti, and Joe Russo. I mean really Fake Jerry? And Jay? YIkes
  23. Wow, really surprised Wilco would license there music for crap like this. Very disappointing.
