  1. I was hoping to find one for cheap like I did for the dead, but it seems like this is a much hotter ticket. I'm liking this jam out of "Looks Like Rain"
  2. Are you going to the Auditorium Theater shows calvino? eta: funny, I thought they were playing everything to slow, now their playing this too fast.
  3. Furthur Barton Hall 02/14/09 Set One: Midnight Hour> They Love Each Other Beat It On Down The Line Tennessee Jed Pretty Peggy-O Looks Like Rain Sugaree Good Love
  4. any of you planning on listening to Futhur live from Barton Hall tonight? It will be on sirus, you can sign up for a free 30-day trial if your not a subscriber
  5. Lou, I agree it is unreal that he was elected. It says something about the American people, not the man. I could see some kind of celebratory concert having took place before he took office or right after. But its only a distraction at this point, we need to move on. If you take the time took look at the report the ACLU put together you'll see that his record on civil rights is nothing to be celebrating. I'm not surprised to see Dylan playing the concert but Baez spoke a lot of shit about George Bush and like the report shows Obamas politics aren't much different when it comes to c
  6. @ one wing they should be fine, you may want to keep an eye on 13 year old though. There is lots of trouble and youngin could get into at the roo. On another note I think this the first year with a lineup that doesn't make me want to go.
  7. http://www.aclu.org/america-unrestored I don't think Obama is anything close to a civil rights advocate. ETA: I'm also sick of celebs kissing his ass who talked shit on Bush.
  8. I know this is going to piss people off but I really can not not say it. What a fucking joke. Shame on all the performers who consider themselves advocates of civil rights.
  9. WTF? Where did that quote come from
  10. To some extent this is true, but it simplifies the issue. I honestly think this will play the biggest part in smaller elections where contracts and permits can be stopped by local courts and governments.
  11. I can see this but I still think that time won't be a factor. As Glenn Greenwald pointed out, they already did control our elections. ETA: What he didn't point out and what scares me is this is bringing the dirty deeds out into the light and we're now going to consider them legal.
  12. Sorry I'm joining the conversation late, but what makes you think this won't have an effect next election?
  13. Four years ago my friend lent me Howard's book and it forever changed my worldview. Howard you will be missed. Haven't got to watch this yet but I know its going to be good.
  14. I don't know what about them would lead you to believe they're a novelty act, unless you don't believe humor belongs in music.
  15. Haha, I was sort of thinking the same thing in a way. Its kind of weak when you hear how many celebs with these huge bank accounts were there yet the highest donation was'nt even about 5,000. But really if you don't like them who cares? You can still respect their humanitarian efforts.
  16. Ween is the shit..................that is all.
  17. Was just listening to a take of "Greatest Story Ever Told" and realized why I like some of Bob's songs so much. Its because on many of them Jerry just rips it the whole way through the tune, no holding back.
  18. No in order for that to work you need some LSD and SPIDERS cranked at full volume. I've seen it happen
  19. Actually your wrong on the last part. Lots of people LOVE pain, some of these people probably hate music. lol But seriously your write they are profiting off of his talent, but would they be profiting if he weren't ill? I wasn't trying to say the guys in the band backing him weren't fans, I was mainly referring to his brother who was out of the picture until a few years ago. He is the one who put Roky on the road.
  20. Jeff your full of shit. These days I'd say he is a better singer then anybody he named (minus paul or john, lennon that is). I wouldn't even put him past to pull of some Otis Redding tunes.
  21. I mean he seemed into, its just a question of how there is he. I agree with Lou that everyone has the right to make a living I just wonder how much others are profiting off of his pain, same with Daniel Johnson.
  22. CAN'T WAIT! Saw them play Jackie Wants a Black Eye a few months ago, and couldn't wait to hear it again glad to see its coming.
  23. You got that right Louie, this doesn't sit well on my stomach. After having seen "Your GOnna Miss Me" and catching him live I can't help but feeling like he's getting taken advantage of.
