  1. I was there everynight and out of the 15 or so Wilco shows I've seen these have to be at the top. I do wish they would have realesed some of the rarities played those evenings. "Someone Else's Songs" was amazing same with "Say You Miss Me".

I really hope one day they just put up the shows to download because they are amoung their best. Even if they just put up the last night post spiders. That was def. one of the best wilco shows i've seen.

But id say most of the shows for that ghost is born tour were incredible. One of my favorites being the new years show that opened with Less Then You Think>Spiders with Jeff in his PJs.

  2. I read in the NY Daily News this morning that the lead singer of Relatively Clean Rivers is the father of Adam Gadahn, the American Al Qaeda guy who has been in the news for threatening NYC with dirty bombs.

There you go, a Wilco-Al Qaeda connection.

Tweedy might be on a "watch list" for citing this album as an influence on SBS.

Get ready to start burning your Wilco records i can see it now

MSNBC Crawl: Jeff Tweedy (Wilco) citied as member of Al-Qaeda.

I knew Jeff was a little to passonite during "Kingpin"

there will be a Q&A about Jack then ratdog at 7:30 EST. (Q&A starts at 6:30)

Rumor is Mickey will be coming out. He was at Gatering of the vibes this weekend. Supposdley last nights show was on fire! Donna Jean came out for Eyes (rumors have it she'll be there tonight as well).

For those of you who don't know Mark Karan has been off tour due to cancer. So Steve Kimock is playing lead guitar. So for the few other dead fans on here enjoy!

  4. I saw Garth Hudson play with Wilco @ The Newport Folk Fest and it was ugly. REAL ugly.

    Kotche, Stirratt and Young. B)

why was it ugly??? If i rember correctly he was just really low in the mix. Then agian i found my way back stage at that point and the sound was a little muffled. I don't know if people in the crowd could see it but Garth picked up one of Glenn's cymbals (it was a big square one like really big) and put it over his head as it it were a hat. At least I found it funny.

I also rember Maude sitting in here wheel chair stage right pounding her chain down in time with the music. What a great day.

"I saw Doc Watson eat a veggie burger" Jeff Tweedy

  5. Glenn and Jeff with Leo Kottke and Phil Lesh

    YES YES YES

I've said it once i'll say it again

JEFF with Phil and Freinds. His voice suits the material and some of the wilco stuff would sound great in this format. Maybe bring Nels or glenn.

I know there is that one verison of Ripple where Jeff makes fun of the dead. But i find it hard to belive he doesn't at least listen to American Beauty being as though he's covered Ripple a few times seriously and the boys even brought Phil out once.

Does anyone have an interview or anything where jeff talks about the dead. I rember reading somewhere John said two of their Lp's are amoung his fav. and being a huge dead fan I'd love to know what they actully think.

  6. The bootlegs of both nights are fantastic. I rember reading that interview a while ago and it really makes me sad to dylan being so apathitic. I feel that this has a lot to do wtih his current tours (2005-2007) that he has been told to just make people happy and as he says why argue.

  7. here are some of my fav. jazz recordings

Ahamd Jamal Trio - Ledendary OKEH and Epci Sessions

Albert Alyer - The Greenvich Village Sessions (Tweedy metioned this in an article and I picked it up great free jazz)

Bela Fleck and the Flecktones - 8/9/91 GET THIS SHOW OFF ARCHIVE, its a sounboard and features Brandford marsalis. Jaw droppingly awesome

Dizzy Gillespie- Dizzy's Big 4 (Dizzy, Ray brown, joe pass a

Django Reinhardt - Djangology (can't beat Django and Stefn Grapplie together)

Grant Green - The Orginal Jam Master: Volume 2. HAS TO BE ONE OF THE MOST UNDERRATED GUITAR PLAYERS EVER I also recommend IDLE Moments which features him and Bobby Hutcherson on Vibes

Jerry Garica and David Grisman - So What (awesome acoustic takes on So What, Milesstones and some others a great chill out disc. Youll be amazed at Jerrys Jazz chops (that is if you aren't already into 77 era dead.)

Joe Pass - Quadrant (Ray brown on Bass)

John Coltrane - A Love Suprme, Ascension, Interstellar Space, My Favorite Things

    Roy Haynes - Love Letters

    Monk- ANYTHING

  8. I think there are 6 threads about this concert now - maybe 7.

yeah but if they are adressing different issues I dont see what the problem is. Esp. if its not knocking topics off of the front of the board. Considering how many people use this board its actully preety slow moving. Some boards I'm on the front page is constantly changing.

How would I know that this issue was dissucsed in that thread?????

  9. what the fuck is wrong with My Darling????

I've been on this board close to four year and never rember anyone "hating" this song. I think it sounds earliy lennon like and is an awesome tune.

as for "Leave Me Like You Found Me" not bad but not great. I think Sky Blue Sky is great up until "Leave Me" not that this, walken (hate the recorded verison) are bad songs just the sequencing is odd. Although on and on and on is a great closer

  10. awesome. I was scared this was gonna be free. That decembrists show was a fiasco. People were leaving seats early and they wouldnt let people who actully wanted to watch down. Plus you can't even see the bands from the lawn and the sound is better then grant park but still to low.

Will def. be trying to get tickets for this!
