  1. I kind of wonder if jeff just "talked" about these albums? I can't imagine he picked these as his favorite 70's recording. The lack of comments from tweedy leaves me to belive this. The list he put togther of his 20 fav. live albums seemed like he sat down and thought about it this seems like its off the cuff.

  2. have you guys actully taken the time to listen to his music? THERE IS A REASON THEY WERE SUCKED IN!

Get off your high horses and listen, listen to the words, listen to the melody and try to tell me he isnt an amazing songwriter. If examples need be given by all means i will

  3. Firstly, I, like everyone else was very impressed with the what was on the DVD, the live jam sessions, the interviews, Jeff's great story on SBS and Belleville, But here's what puzzles me. For the past few months we've read mountains of press about how collaborative and collective this whole record was, the sitting around in a circle, etc, etc. Why is it then that Jeff dominates nearly all of the interview footage? You barely see Pat in the film and all of the interviews with the other guys are very short, quick thoughts. I mean we did just get a full-length Jeff solo dvd a few months back. Curious if anyone else noticed this and was bothered by it.

because the interviews jeff did delt with the lyrics which he wrote, so it ties the video together. Secondly look at the writing credits, there a disincition between jeff tweedy and wilco. He could have easily creited the Tweedy/Wilco tracks to wilco (which copyright wise is probably how their labled) but instead he is singled out from the group since he is a the orginator of most of the matieral. Sure everyone had input but the songs had to start somewhere

  4. I hardley ever buy stuff from them (I prefer the disc), then I burn into my I-pod.

But I was surfing the site and they have none of the classic Jayhawks records...what is up wit that.

probably whats keeping radiohead and the beatles appering on there.

  5. Sorry I missed this. I ended up seeing Von at Manifest. And dam was he good. They did "Footprints" and some other stuff i wasnt familer with. My roomate got to play drums for him and said he was a blast to play with. I think there might have been a recording made, ill try and upload it if it happened.

  6. the reason this will be a students only event is because its actually at northwestern so they have more direct control, Im sure they didnt really care at the Riv or when it was at other venues. It also seemed very clear on the website you need a student ID to enter.

I dont think you need an ID for andrew bird though, just to get tickets - not to enter

Plus who needs Wilco, columbias got LUPE FIASCO for free friday at manifest!

and von freeman, my roomates going to be drumming for this chicago jazz legend

  7. 29 was def. December 2005....

And regarding the Crow track: Ryan deserves a hit. I hope that song is a tenth as popular as "Picture," her duet with Kid Rock.

yeah he deserves a hit but he doesn't need sherl crows help.

  8. um, if you guys who are saying he has lost it haven't heard "Chaos And Creation" then you need to listen to it. That album is phenomenal.

his vocals are so weak on that record. I gave it several tries but nothing on it grabbed me. It just fell flat in my opionion. I was really expecting something great from the collabaration but chaos is all i got.

  9. Maybe you just don't know how to use your Mac. Save it to the desktop, then remove the .txt extension and walla, it works in iTunes! It worked perfectly on my Mac.

nope i def. know how to use my mac and it didnt work smart ass. itunes opened but then nothing played or loaded.

  10. yeah, driving rain was just terrible. it just amazes me how these artists keep churning out junk. and not just junk, but junk that takes a lot of work. lyrics, arrangements, instrumentation, recording, production-all for crap. it's like the last trey anastasio cds. you could tell lots of work went into it and it was complete shit. as well as the new son volt etc. i could go on.

trey is a horrible example lol

  11. whats sick about this is they didnt want to release when they recorded it. and every time paul has released an album he pulls some publitcty stunt using th ebeatles name to help sell his record and now that george is dead there is no one to stop him running amuck now with thtat name

all the same im glad to it coming out i just wish the evervy article and ad for it will feature a refernbce to the new (probably crap) mccartney recory

  12. I'm actully really scared they are gonna play taste of chicago. I hope they dont do it. The sound system there is terrible and the fence makes it like your not even really "there".

Charter One Pavillion would be perfect. I need me some out door Wilco and that venue is great. Hope they do GA floor if they were to play there.

Thats really all I want is a General Addmision Wilco show.
