Shortest Distance/Longest distance for a Wilco/Jeff show?
remphish1 replied to remphish1's topic in Just A Fan
I owe both you and Wise Enough both a beer next time you catch them in the NYC area...what dedication! I am impressed..the power of Wilco! -
Yeah when he was quieter you could hear the bass bleeding in... Deadmaus5 was on vs him. He said "I know you had a choice between us and kiss so thanks for coming" he didn't seem too mad and I took it as sarcasm every time he mentioned something. I must say though out of the 5 or so times I have seen him this may have been my favorite! I like when he does his heavier stuff...even peaceful valley was real heavy!

Inspired by bobfrombob only having to go 5 blocks to see Wilco...what is the shortest distance you traveled to see the band and what's the longest? I travelled about 15 miles to see Wilco play two shows in Montclair, NJ I travelled 200 or so for Solid Sound.

It was one of the last shows he ever played it was tough to watch at the time. It's amazing how different his live show was from 2000-2003 he was nice and friendly even though he seemed to be somewhere else

and no Going to Town???...that drum beat gets me every time... Probably still one of my favorite live moments was on the 1965 tour. They opened with Superstition and went right into Going to Town. It tore the roof off the place. Seek out the video when they did this combo at a festival in Germany..it is soooo funky and awesome! Although I haven't watched the late show in I'd say 10+ years the Late Show has a very special place in my life. Back when I was in High School I used to watch all the time. Any time there was a good guest my friends and I would hang out and try and meet them or attend a taping. I must have attended the show 25 times or so...Some of my highlights were seeing: Wilco, Bruce Springsteen, Radiohead, Phish, BIll Murray, Christopher Walker, Beck, Elvis Costello etc..I just figured since it is appropriate I will share my Wilco story since it was so much fun. We didn't have tickets for the show when

No just a discussion on which groups went out with a bang or solid album verse fading into oblivion -
