Right right right. If you can't stomach the stats undermine them with inconsequential hunches and strange logic that guesses relative abortion rates. In western countries, a dead baby is unfortunately a fairly easy thing to measure. The number of live births is also pretty easy to count. In fact, infant mortality has been THE measure of a country's health and a barometer to when it is heading into the dumper. sooo, using your style of inference, let's make an assumption and I'll go slow, just for you: A pregnant woman's access to health care is directly related to the health of her chi

And this is trying to a make point by comparing what country to what country? Last time I checked US, Canada, UK, Germany, France all had the right to legalized abortion. If you are comparing each of those country's infant mortality rate, there is no difference in your abortion-befuddled analysis and your point becomes null. So, with all this infant mortality talk, don't you feel a tinge of guilt that the US's rate, by any measure or attempt to confound it, is mediocre. I mean these are babies right? Isn't that what the other tenant of a right wing frame of mind are supposed to protect?

Obviously! That is sooo correct. I guess that part of the movie that talks about the relative level of taxes doesn't really exist. It is all so clear now, thanks!

That's a retarded statement and in a befuddling way. For instance how are abortions figured into infant mortality except in the most right to life sense? Infant Mortality = the number of children dying under a year of age divided by the number of live births that year. Nothing about the right to choose. But anyway, please keep stating these talking points from Humana's Sicko refutation page. It's fun.

Yeah, and I think it makes sense to have Moore's 'everyman' create the movie. He's overweight and until very recently dressed in the same clothes and Tiger's hat day-in day-out. Geez, if say Jack Lalaine narrated it and hecktered us for 2 hours on fitness and prevention, it would be unbearable.

wow - way to elevate the discussion. Good going!

You are never speaking to just yourself and thanks for the CNN link Judy. Moore's style of debating does him no benefit, but he is always entertaining. I loved the Nixon segment to the movie and was contrasting that to Tommy Douglas being arrested in California five or so years after seeing Canadian universal health become fact. The two events are of course unrelated, but seem to have some kind of karmic thread synchronicity. Went to the Sicko premiere last month with daughter 1 and her friend Jade. Saw Micheal Moore in the audience and sat aghast watching the whole movie. When the f

You getting payola now? Just because R-K may want to advertise on Blogs and such, you should still be able to say something is absolute crap instead of 'dull'. I mean porn stars talking about their lives. You can't get more banal. And I'm saying this all with a grain of salt.

probably old new in these viral times: "That's the kind of website that makes you want to buy the book and give chocolates to the author." - Neil Gaiman This is a treat: http://noonebelongsheremorethanyou.com/ Bought the book this weekend and read aloud her recent short in the New Yorker to the family. I actually made the Chapters (Cdn version of Borders) clerk go to the website and made sure that more copies where ordered. Guess that means I'm part of the street team and I can't wait to crack the book !

that is soo neet. Trying to figure if there will be something strange this Saturday: # July 6 - Bell Centre, Montreal # July 7 - John Labatt Centre, London, Ont. # July 8 - Ottawa Bluesfest, Ottawa but that is a lot of Bus Travel between Montreal-London-Ottawa. I'll go by my indie shop and see if they may be tipped off about something... -
Just got around to listening - This is fantastic. I can see it sort of becoming a bit irritating like say Moxy Fruvous with Banjos, but until that time comes.... Next up is to catch up with Blitzen Trapper or what ever they are called
