My kid is 7...and just graduated med school. Doogie Howser got nothing on my boy.

Portland show was fantastic. Neko and Hogan were funny as usual. Nice tenor guitar on Neko too.

Well, it's good to see some friendly faces. All is well with me in Portland, Oregon. Still making music, still drinking beer.

No, man. I haven't been on that board in years either. I'm feeling OLD SKOOL. Now, who wants to argue about George W. Bush?
-
That's Brown Blazer to you, son.

This clip made me smile the whole day when it posted. How great is Mavis?

Thank YOU for listening and the kind words.

My bulletin board time fluctuates. But I am always with you in spirit.

Mick moved out here a few months after I did and we reconstituted the band around the two of us: bass, drums and a multi-instrumentalist (pedal steel, lap steel, dobro, mandolin, etc.) Josh B. flew out this summer for our annual birthday show and so we had a crowded stage but it was a riot.

Hey Eric, Good to hear from you. Luckily you won't have to set aside much cash as this thing is CHEAP!
-
Totally awesome. Nice post.
-
Thanks, Todd. We'll be posting another track from the EP soon. What's new with you?
-
Yeah, not the most uplifting song, is it? GLONO Records is on-hold for now and we just relaunched the site after an 8 month hiatus, so this EP is self-released. Why let Jake Brown take a piece of the action on this hot commodity? Thanks for listening and please share with anyone who you think might dig it. After such a long break we're just hoping to get people interested again.

Hey all. Been a while but thought I'd pop in to let you know that there's a new Riviera song available to stream and download. It's from our new EP titled Watching Western Skies, due in January. Riviera - Hopeless For anyone who doesn't know me or Riviera, I am an OLD SKOOL VCer from way back when. Riviera has opened for many of your favorite bands, including Jeff Tweedy (yes, I know!), Son Volt, Califone, Slobberbone, Kraig Jarret Johnson, Hem and a bunch of others. We recently moved from Chicago to Portland and are having a fine time in the Pacific Northwest. DP

who do you think needs to be remastered?
Derek Phillips replied to Synthesizer Patel's topic in Someone Else's Song
The Smiths - Entire catalog And one need only listen to the recent Beatles remasters (an astonishing improvement over the 1987/88 original CD releases) and The Rolling Stones' ABKO albums to hear the value of remastering (done right). -
You are delightful.

A thread where you recommend NEW music to PopTodd
Derek Phillips replied to PopTodd's topic in Someone Else's Song
Hey Todd. Yeah, it's been a while since I've haunted these boards. New Mavis got me all on a Wilco jag again so figured I'd see what's doing. I don't seem to know many folks here anymore. I guess that happens. Hope all is well in Chicagoland. -

Black Whales - Seattle band with two drummers and one mustache. Very catchy indie rock. Little Beirut - Self-described "big dumb pop songs." Totally radio-friendly pop from Portland's own. 1776 - Totally awesome psych-folk band. Also from Portland. 12-string electric guitars, need I say more?
