In a nostalgic mood following his recent surgery, Cuban president Fidel Castro, 128, holds up a newspaper documenting his attendance at the first Beatles' Ed Sullivan Show concert, 9 February, 1963. He went on to suggest that, had Paul McCartney led the ill-fated Bay of Pigs invasion of 1961, he would have been "powerless to stop them." And that the author of this caption is "trying way to hard."
  2. It's kind of funny how managers and coaches wear uniforms in baseball. You don't see football coaches suiting up, or soccer coaches, or basketball or hockey or lacrosse coaches dolling up in the team unis. And come to think of it, how come the base coaches rarely stand in the boxes alotted them. And the on-deck guy never stands in the on-deck circle.

Probably goes back to the days when many managers were player/managers...

I believe the :P infers a joke was being made.

    Implies.

  3. I'll second A-man's Wake of the Flood and all those offering WD and AB. But it really depends on what you like. There's some really, really good stuff on a lot of the Dead's albums (none of which I can really listen to much anymore), but it's a crapshoot if we don't know what you're looking for.

  4. Sad, I'm the only one in here...but I grew up with these videos, and I'm rediscovering them on youtube

    Wilburys

Was Orbison in the band when they did this video? I see Bob, but don't hear him...and I hear Roy Orbison, but don't see him. It seems that Jeff Lynne is mouthing his parts. Does anyone know about this?

Roy Orbison had died by the time they made the video. That's what the empty rocking chair represents during his parts...

    Good stuff. :cheers
