Well, I didn that last night (minus the popcorn unfortunately) so could do with getting out of the house for a bit... I'm erring on the side of the football and a few beers - nothing too racey...

There's certainly a lot of The Radio Dept and Bow Wow Wow - for some reason I can see 18th C French people listening to Bow Wow Wow but not the Radio Dept...

Unfortunately no free drinks or food at either - hence the quandry...

I seem to have been sent the new Iron Maiden album... interesting... And, pressing question of the day... do I go and watch the England football game this evening, or go and watch some bands I've never heard of?

Got about 1/2 way through the new Walkmen album before changing it... it's very, very poor... So, to brighten things up a bit:

Blimey! Didn't think I'd ever see you listening to Rush! For me, Subpop radio....

He gets quite a bit of press over here in the UK - he really challenges what people thing of graffiti... most of his "stunts" involve some impressive art... the piece with a pick axe through a telephone box was cool and he swapped some of the art in the tate for his own... took them at least a couple of weeks before they found out!

Nice! They've managed to reschedule the Cambridge date too now to late October, so hoping they'll play so I can see 'em again! In fact, why not play 'em:

My parents bought it for me for my birthday from a second hand book shop - not sure how hard or easy it is to get. I'm only a handful of pages in, but it's really interesting - the whole mix of drugs, depression, brilliance in his letters is great - in this volume there's an awful lot to Ginsberg who gets it in the neck when he doesn't reply It's amazing how much of his correspondence ended up in his actual books. I read that a while back - it's worth sticking with, it's very good and, IMO, better than the Harry Potter lot.
