MrRain422
I wish they didn't have to bleep David Wright every time he missed one. As annoying as Chris Berman and Harold Reynolds are, they're even more annoying when you're missing every other word. He put on a good show just now though.
bjorn_skurj
He plays in New York, where there is a great deal of swearing.
MrRain422
I don't mind the swearing. I just wish they didn't bleep it out. Why even have him mic-ed while he's at the plate?

Duck-Billed Catechist
this guy on the radio is freakin ridiculous.....Jermaine Dye hit a few out and he wasn't even talking about it until after the fact - and then Big Papi come up and the guy about jizzes all over himself with every move he makes. --Reni

MrRain422
I'd have to imagine that the homerun derby isn't as exciting on the radio.
Lammycat
Nice show, Big Pappy.
MrRain422
Wright is definately the one who benefits the most from the new rule where the homers from the first round carry over. So long as he doesn't completely lay an egg in the second round, he should be headed to the final.
Reni
well, we don't have cable anymore - no free cable here. and yes....I said jizz.....
bjorn_skurj
I like listening to baseball on the radio.
MrRain422
Baseball on the radio is cool, I just didn't see the homerun derby being exciting on the radio. I was just speculating though. If you say it's good, I trust you. I'm sticking with the TV though.
Reni
oh you're right, the homerun derby isn't good on the radio, I wasn't implying that - I don't even like it on the TV......I had the radio turned off a few moments after I made my post.
MrRain422
Ah, that's cool. Yeah, I actually sort of lost interest in the last round and a half myself. I enjoyed the beginning, but after a while it's sort of the same thing over and over. I was at least year's derby, and it's certainly much more exciting in person. There were a couple monster shots in the first round that were a lot of fun, but as it went on, the homers became fewer and not as massive, and therefore not as fun. I'm still pumped for the game tomorrow though.

bjorn_skurj
It's for the best, trust me. I'm glad Wright didn't embarass himself, but I'm also glad he didn't win: (Dated July 5) Here
bobbob1313
I do think Howard's bound for a slump. He completely changed his swing for this thing (notice how much he was pulling the ball, as opposed to normally going the other way). He's only had one pull home run all year. I think he's going to be trying to pull the ball way too much going into the second half and not do much.
MrRain422
Man, Miguel got screwed by that new rule. I'm angry. That hasn't always been like that, has it? Well, it wasn't the rule last year, but I don't think it's the first time it's ever worked like that. I think the rules change pretty frequently from year to year.

borracho
that was pretty cool when he hit the "win 500 flights" sign on the last homer. made some fan pretty happy! what would you do with 500 round-trip flights? what a dilemna.....
