Mrs. Peel
It's a treasure trove of old school hip hop. A lot of early east coast stuff. A lot of rare videos......that's why I'm wondering if it's really Shock G.

EL the Famous
Rob Base & DJ E-Z Rock - It Takes Two I absolutely uncontrollably love this song. And a song I never knew existed:Kool Moe Dee/KRS-One/Chuck D - Rise N' Shine I pop the Rob Base on for the twins at least 2-3 times a week...they love it. That second vid is a great find, Pee. Per the banner in back it looks like it was from the 'Stop the Violence' comp and the only vid i'd seen off of that (until now) was 'Self Destruction'. Cool tune. Cowboy Curtis is a drug pusher. even better, as the troubled teen...COCKROACH! Y'now, these videos really illustrate how fucked the rap game has become and how MTV isn't only lame, but that it fucking sold out black culture by favoring the cookie cutter 'hard' shit they play now. Videos of tunes w/ messages like these would never make it ot he air unless it was to make fun of them. I don't know if these vids actually helped anybody when they did actually play them, but at least they didn't perpetuate the stereotype that the only way you can succeed as a black kid is to hustle. The old 'well, that's just reality we speaking to in our rhymes' is a played out excuse and it's sick. Sorry, rant over.

bobbob1313
"Made You Look" is one of my favorite hip hop songs. That one line "Don't say my car's topless, say the titties is out" makes me laugh every time.

And that is a great line, too.
EL the Famous
oh snap! I must have put that tune on every mix tape I ever made for a girl High School and beyond and I had no clue they made a video for it. The rhymes are wicked enough, but it's the beat and guitar lick sampled on that Nas track still give me chills every time I hear it.

So is 'Runnin'...a buddy of mine and his wife came into their wedding reception to that tune.We came into ours with this. The point was we'd just moved back from Cali. The horns and scratches worked perfectly with the DJ's intro. Stetsasonic! Damn, I hadn't heard that in years. What a great song.
