Thanks for that tidbit, missy.

On Saturday, Sarah and I were walking with the dog, and a cranky old yellow lab attacked Cooper. Sarah had his leash, and was terrified. It pissed me off, because it was the second time this has happened with this particular dog.

It's sad to think about having to wear steel toe boots just to take a walk.

there was an evil black lab that was often loose when i walked the Woobie and i took to carrying pepper spray. It would literally stalk us on the street and finally i would let it get close enough and spray it right in its eyes. And after that i took a diffferent route. I also called animal control and ratted him out.

yeah, i've been thinking about iowa for grad school, but i'm not sold on being stuck in iowa

If you're talking about Iowa City, don't let that hold you back. I love that town. Yeah, it's a bit out of the way, but it's a good place. Not too far from Chicago when you need an escape ... and Gabe's Oasis brings in some pretty good bands.

If you're talking about Ames, though ... well, I can't really comment, but I think stardog lives in Ames.

Me and cryptique are Grinnell homeboys :yay

:cheers

I loved rural Iowa. I really miss it sometimes.

BIG FULL MOON: Tonight's full moon is the closest and biggest of 2006. Why? The Moon's orbit is lopsided: one side is closer to Earth than the other. When the Moon turns full on Sept 7th, it will be on the close side, making it seem a bit wider than usual. Look for the extra-wide Moon rising in the east at sunset--very pretty.

My son: "so if we call the moon coming directly between the Earth and Sun an eclipse, what do we call the Sun coming between the moon and the Earth?"
