JUDE
Whatever you want to call me is fine with me. I have no clue as to where you live, I live in the middle of nowhere. But I will be in Chicago Sunday through Tuesday. If you live there and would like to call me a fucking asshole to my face PM me and I'll let you know where I am staying. Beyonnd that why not stick to your talking points and keep the lies flowing. Wait, personal insult is the RNC way, it is much easier than actual discussion. Dude are you for real? Christ this may be the best bit I've seen on this board yet.

Whatever, you are a fuckign pussy who has no point to make so you toss an insult out to bolster your flagging manhood. Not once taking the time to see that I said Kerry fucked up with his choice of words. It does not fit in wiith your pre-concived notions so you have no choice other than to call names. You could refute me with logic and evidence, but since you know that you are wrong you have to resort to the defense of someone who as been painted into a corner and you have to lash out because it's all you got. Keep the insults coming it simply bolsters my view of you that you are a gutless pussy who has no point. Now if you want to trade insults, I can do that I can curse with the best of them, heck I can curse like Lee Earmy in Full Metal Jacket. I learned when I was an instructor in the military. Though I did cop shit lapping jiz bucket from a comedian years ago. Can't remember who, but it stuck with me.
Embarcadero Eyes
Can we get back to the topic? Bush actually said our troops are "plenty smart". That's what I want my nations' leader to call me. How shitty is that? Your president calls you "plenty smart" or John Kerry saying you didn't use your education wisely. Hmmm... which one do I want? Choosing between those two for president was like picking your favorite Menendez brother. (Thank you, Mel Gibson. Drunks are plenty smart) And I'd be willing to bet Kerry's speech writers are all strewn about on the floor of some cabin in the woods, still numb from the bottles of quaaludes they downed yesterday... MattZ
Kerry was interviewed today on Imus and stated -- and the copies of his prepared speech confirm -- that he insinuated that if you dont do your homework you end up bringing a country into war. Insinuating that Bush didnt look at history or study the region or understand the enemy. He was clearly talking about Bush, but left out the word "us" (i.e., you get "us" stuck in Iraq as opposed to you get stuck in Iraq). Everybody in this thread is a fucking asshole. Chill out for godsake.

I made my point. You simply didn't agree with it. Since that doesn't conform to your meager view of what a democrat is you resorted to tossing caliber and I out of the party. the fact is you have things ass over tea kettle backwards. Duck-Billed Catechist
This thread is dumb. John, you open yourself to ridicule by coming out swinging, saying that people are spinning without knowing anything about them or where they're coming from. It lacks context like the Kerry soundbite, see? Gary, political threads are heated enough without insults. They add nothing to the board but bluster. Cool it.

solace
Kerry is a douche, regardless while it was obvious (to me) what he meant to say (why would he call himself unintelligent and uneducated since he served?), even IF he'd gotten it right, it woulda been a dumb joke. someone muzzle him for the next 3 years, thanks
WilcoFan
I think Kerry is just being taken out of context. And if what he said makes him an a-hole when then so be it. I'm going to tell my kids the same thing. The last thing I want is for my kids who are 2 and 3 years old to be killed Bush's war when the are young adults. And if something doesn't change and Bush and company has their way, my kids will be fighting this war years from now. F that.

It lacks context like the Kerry soundbite, see? I respectfully disagree. The disagreement in this thread has nothing to do with where people are coming from or what they believe. When folks take an issue and start talking about it -- without understanding the context or what Kerry actually meant -- they end up spinning whether they intend to or not. The RNC wants this gaffe by Kerry to be on the front pages. Let's ignore for the moment that Kerry is someone who has spent 35 years fighting for veterans and armor for troops and fought in Vietnam (how can someone like this really think that the military is filled with lazy stupid people?) By picking up on this "issue" and running with it, folks divert attention from the real issues in this election. Kerry's gaffe is not evidence of the democrats as "utterly lost." That is feeding into how the RNC wants to spin this -- whether you intend to participate in the spin or not.

We have a different definition of spin, then. In my mind, spin is all about intent.
jff
Kerry did have a poor choice of words, but anyone who takes even a moment to read or hear what he had to say, in its proper context ... And that would amount to how many people? Virtually none. The fact is, the republican response to this will damage all democrats next Tuesday. John Kerry's speech, even if he got the words right, was not going to harm Bush or any republican in the least.

It lacks context like the Kerry soundbite, see? Gary, political threads are heated enough without insults. They add nothing to the board but bluster. Cool it. Given the context of the "joke" it was pretty obvious early yesterday that Kerry was referring to Bush, and then Kerry gave another press conference yesterday afternoon to explcitly explain this. Calibur's first post was sad spin. Maybe not his spin, but it was exactly the spin that Bush, Snow et al. were and still are using today. It's not entirely surprising to me that seing those comments repeated today could evoke a frustrated response. That doesn't John Smith a fucking asshole.
