bobfrombob
from the Days Of Our Lives update for November 16: Meanwhile, Marlena awakens in a luxurious cabin in the middle of nowhere. She is frightened by the sight of a man in a furry coat and hat standing over her with an ax. She threatens the man -- until he removes his hat, and we see it is Smokey Robinson! Smokey cares for Marlena and, eventually, sends an email to the Salem P.D. with Marlena's whereabouts. John takes the first plane out and is reunited with Marlena. They dance romantically as Smokey sings to them.

gogo
First of all: No spoilers! (OK, actually, I'd already seen this one ) And second of all: Marlena was ElectraWoman??? I had no idea!
Sir Stewart
While Electra Woman & Dyna Girl was a super show, with a fantastic theme song, Ms Hall's finest work was as the matriarch of a family that included Chad Allen, Shannen Doherty and Wilford Diabetes, in the short-lived NBC series Our House. gogo
I just always have to toss that in there! You should have seen the vague, practically-in-code e-mail I sent to my college roommate this week, asking her if she'd seen the episode where a certain person from Steve and Kayla's past knocks on the window of their hospital room... EL the Famous
did he feed Marlena any of his Smokey's The Soul is in the Bowl Gumbo he's always pitching over my supermarket's muzak system?
gogo
That was not specified, although he did "whip something up" for her, so it's entirely possible. Also, he wrapped her sprained ankle in an ace bandage. Whose people get in touch with whom for a guest appearance like this? Does Smokey Robinson just put it out there that he'd like to appear on some crappy daytime TV to whore his new album, or do the Days of Our Lives producers go around asking aging pop stars if they'd be interested in doing some light acting, and maybe singing a song while two of the stars share a romantic moment? Also also, SPOILER ALERT Clay Aiken will be appearing on Days on the big Friday-before-Christmas episode!!!

She also gets kudos for her awesomed performance as a Satan possesed Marlena. It's disturbing to me that I've actually seen this material, but hey, there it is.
Sir Stewart
I've seen lots of Days of Our Lives. Lots.
gogo
I watched Days in college, and was recently sucked back in by the "Steve and Kayla return!" storyline (pretty impressive, considering that Steve was killed in a fiery explosion about 15 years ago). It's amazing to me how many of the same characters are having the exact same dramas (and pretty much the same conversations) that they were having 20 years ago. gogo
Not only is Steve back from the dead, we've been reminiscing about the time that he had his eye restored somehow, but when the viewers demanded the patch back, he lost it again. In a different fiery explosion. My favorite L&L story: We knew a guy who lived with his elderly mother. One day he heard her screaming from her bedroom, and didn't know if she was being attacked, or had hurt herself somehow, or what. So he ran up the stairs, and when he got to the door of her room, he realized that what she was screaming was "Scotty caught the bouquet! Scotty caught the bouqet!!!" Pocahontas
I got interested in Days when Marlena was possessed by the devil, and have either watched it or kept up with it through the TV Guide. You can miss months and go back watching and you still know what is going on.
