henniganmusic
I read over a bunch of boards for bands that I like but rarely post or become members. I figured what better way to start posting than promoting something of mine. Anyways, I've been in this band the past year and we are finally putting together our album. I would love to get some feedback on some of our songs. We only have two songs posted right now. Thanks! hxxp://www.henniganmusic.com/music.html DaveHennigan Music henniganmusic@gmail.com

henniganmusic
I was being sarcastic...I decided to put a link to the music here because I respect people's taste if they listen to Wilco.
OOO
I sure could go for some spiced ham right now.

Guest tandylacker
Seems like it would be a fun band to play in if you like that kind of music. Very busy music.
myboyblue
I did go and listen but I'll reserve comment.

So Long
We already have a Dave Matthews Band.
henniganmusic
Man, you are the second person in the past coupe days I've had tell me we sound like Dave Matthews Band. I never noticed that before, but I guess it must be true. Thanks for checking it out though...
jhh4321
Dave Matthews and Jason Mraz love child.... ehhh...not so much
henniganmusic
I definitely agree with you about Jason Mraz. The first time I heard this kid singing before he started playing with us, he was singing Curbside Prophet. There is no doubt there is a strong influence from him there. I have heard that a lot before. Thanks for responding.
Synthesizer Patel
The track "The Goat" seemed to offer alot with the title, but the actual song was a long long way from what i was expecting. Fuck man, the delay work on the vocals was a touch of comedy genius. Do they have Butlins Holiday camps in America? I thought it was going to be a bedroom recording type thing, but to think that you wasted good studio time on those songs is shameful. If anyone is after a cheap laugh today then check out "The Goat" - it's killer diller.
muller
If anyone is after a cheap laugh today then check out "The Goat" - it's killer diller. Harsh but very fair. Is it just me or is Carlos Santana soloing on that track?
Sir Stewart
This is awful.
tongue-tied
Awfully smooth.
rghammo
I wonder what the typical reaction to this type of post is. I gather that the OP has posted this same message on lots of boards. Do other places respond the way VC does? I ask because it seems very unlikely to me that someone could honestly expect this type of advertising to actually generate positive feedback or build a fan base. Maybe not much forethought goes into it but it just seems like a bad idea.
Sir Stewart
I'm surprised the posts in this thread have been as cordial as they are.
explodo
I thought this thread was unnecessarily cruel. And then I listened to the music. "The Goat" is to music as Boone's Farm is to wine.

Maybe not much forethought goes into it but it just seems like a bad idea. I think if the music is good, or at least making an effort, then it should get a good/fair response - young people/bands need to get heard somehow. It's a bit annoying that someone comes along just to promote their music, then pisses off again, but if I actually heard something good then it's ok with me. I still can't get over the fact that there is a song called "The Goat", let alone what it sounds like.
henniganmusic
I understand the songs I posted were not quite your guys cup of tea, or wine as someone compared it. My brother had been reading this boards for a long time and he suggested I post the songs at a variety of places to see what different people thought. I didn't think I was going to build a fan base off posting on different boards, I just thought I would get some ideas other than a "this is awful" type thing. I appreciate the honesty, but do regret the original posting. Sorry guys.

skyflynn
I thought I was going to see a different ending. I think I liked how this wrapped up.
Degenerex
Hey man, I checked out your music and I think you guys sound pretty good. Just a warning, I've been around this board for a while and it is NOT somewhere you come looking for reassurance or kind words. This section of the board should not be titled "someone else's song" it should be "putting down others for liking music."
