airtaco
So I bought the 3-disc Burt Bacharach box set from Rhino, The Look Of Love. Is this man not one of the greatest songwriters off all time or what? Everytime I listen to "Walk On By" I'm convinced it's the greatest song ever - then I hear "There's Always Something There To Remind Me" and "Anyone Who Had A Heart." Anyone else worship this man? I sure do hope so.
FaintingGoat
Nice topic! I love Burt. In fact, I have a song on my band's CD called "Burt's Boy" which is my tribute to the man. Dionne gave his songs tremendous passion, and as much as I like her take on his lyrics I prefered Karen's voice, especially on "Close to You." Unfortunately I don't have that song on the MySpace page right now. But, as a one time offer, check out the MySpace page in the signature below. If you like the music and are curious to hear "Burt's Boy" send me a message with your address and I'll mail you a complimentary CD.

I don't have this Bacharach box, but I take the Dionne Warwick's Greatest Hits on my desert island's Pop Top 10. "Walk on By" is Heaven.
WilcoFan
He's awesome. However he did make for the oddest grammy moment ever this year. He kind of looked like Annie Lennox.
