Kalle
The first bit of the song is messing around with a D chord I'll figure more of that in a bit. Ok well here's the little first lick that comes in at the 1:15. e 6-7-9-----6-7-8-------5-7--14-12-------------b -------8----------5------------------12-----7-8-g --------------------------------------------------d --------------------------------------------------a --------------------------------------------------e -------------------------------------------------- This is just a start I'm gonna keep on working on it, but damn this is a good song! Kalle
Ok I think I have the chords for this song pretty good and I have Jeff's badass solo too! For the Bm/D Jeff plays a G chord instead live so just play what you feeeeeeeel. You Are My FaceDI remember my mother's sister's husband's brotherBm/DWorking in the gold mine, full time, filling in for sunshineDFiling in to tight lines, ordinary beehivesEmThe door screams i hate you, hate youGHanging 'round my blue jeans DWhy is there no breeze?DNo currency of leavesAmNo current through the water whileAmNo feelings i can see DI trust no emotionDI believe in locomotionEmI've turned to rust, as we've discussedGThough I must have let you down too many timesDIn the dirt and the dust BmI have no idea how this happensDAll of my maps have been overthrownBmHappenstance has changed my glanceF#m with walk downSo many times, my heart has been outgrown EmNow everybody's feeling all aloneDCan't tell you who I amEmWhen everybody's feeling all aloneEmCan't tell you who I am DI am looking forwardDToward the shadows chasing bonesBm/DMy face is stitched and sewingBm/DOur houses hemmed into homesDTrying to be thankfulDOur stories fit into phonesEmAnd our voices lift so easilyGA gift given accidentallyDWhen we're not sure we're alone Ok and for those chords and the fills. D fill-------Bm/De 2-2-2---2--b 3-3-3---3--g 2-0h2---4--d 0-0-0---0--a -------------e ------------- And for the rockin solo! I know it's not perfect but I'll keep working on it and hopefully can keep going where I left off. And before the solo we have the riff which I posted earlier and then it goes into this. e 6-7/--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------10---------b 6-7/----------------------------------------------------------------10---10-10/12-----12/------g 6-7/-----------------------------------7-7----7--7-7-----7/11-11---11---------------------d 8-9/------------------------------------0------0----------0-------------------------------------a 8-9/-----------5------5--5--5----------------------------------------------------------------e 6-7/--------------------7--7------------------------------------------------------------------ cont'de -14-14-14-14-----14---14----18b----------------------------------------------------b 15-15-15-15---------15----------------15--15/14--14/13-12~-----0--0--0---11b--g --------------------------------------------------------------------------3b-3b-3b---d -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------a -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------e ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Live Jeff plays the first half of the solo which is above and then Nels plays the "cont'd" part. Thanks to poortranslator we have the chords Jeff plays while Nels plays the riff before and after the solo/funky Band type part lol. Before solo.Bridge thing: Bbm-Bm-Bbm-Am-D-Em-G(10th fret high)-G(3rd fret low) x1-2, depending on versionBb-B-D Coming out of funky part.Exit Bridge: Bb-Bm-Bbm-Abm-D-Em-G[bar](10th fret high)-G(3rd fret low) Bbm-Bm-Bb-Am-D-Em-G[bar](10th fret high)-G(3rd fret)

Kalle
Yeah Either/Or, semitone doesn't make much of a difference in this case.
Groo
Ok well here's the little first lick that comes in at the 1:15. e 6-7-9-----6-7-8-------5-7--14-12-------------b -------8----------5------------------12---------g ------------------------------------------11-12-d --------------------------------------------------a --------------------------------------------------e -------------------------------------------------- It sounds like they play this lick three times during the song. The last time they play it, it sounds like the ending is slightly different. I can't quite figure it out (and I don't have a gutair on me to double-check) but it kind of sounds like this to me: e 6-7-9-----6-7-8-------5-7--14-12----------------b -------8----------5------------------12------------g -------------------------------------------------12-d ----------------------------------------------12----a ------------------------------------------12--------e -----------------------------------------------------
Kalle
The last time is like this: e 6-7-9-----6-7-9------5-7--14-12------------------6-7-9----6-7-8-----5--7/14-12--------14--------------------b --------8---------------------------12----7-8--------------8----------5---------------12------------10--------15--g --------------------8--------------------------------------------------------------------------------12----------------d ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------a ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------e ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ The last ending part is harmonics and I've been a little too lazy to figure them out so I just play that last little bit. There is a variation from what I posted earlier here.

yankee
I'm having some trouble getting this part to sound right/getting the timing down. Is this played as 16th note triplets (or something like that)? Well, if you'd sign up for the Wilco ensemble for next session, I bet Bob would get is song-figurin' out ninja skills working for you. Come on man, you know you want to sign up! Bob's got this song totally figured out and we are ready to rock it at the Sky Blue Sky record release party at the Hideout. Now all we need is groo. Gobias Industries
I'm correcting these based on the solo version and partially what I do. You Are My Face, or: Thoust Art My Image Upon My Brow Whenever you do the D chord you want to throw in the sus4, so it would look like this: D Dsus4 -2-2 -3-3 -2-0 -0-0 -0-0 ---- All bridge parts use BAR CHORDS. Verses are open chords. You Are My Face D I remember my mother's sister's husband's brother G Working in the gold mine, full time, filling in for sunshine D Filing in to tight lines, ordinary beehives Em The door screams i hate you, hate you G Hanging 'round my blue jeans D Why is there no breeze? D No currency of leaves Am No current through the water while Am No feelings i can see D I trust no emotion D I believe in locomotion Em I've turned to rust, as we've discussed G Though I must have let you down too many times D In the dirt and the dust Bridge thing: Bbm-Bm-Bbm-Am-D-Em-G(10th fret high)-G(3rd fret low) x1-2, depending on version Bb-B-D Bm I have no idea how this happens D All of my maps have been overthrown Bm Happenstance has changed my glance F#m with walk down >>>>>>>>>>Fm So many times, my heart has been outgrown Em Now everybody's feeling all alone D Can't tell you who I am Em When everybody's feeling all alone Em Can't tell you who I am Exit Bridge: Bb-Bm-Bbm-Abm-D-Em-G[bar](10th fret high)-F#m(9th fret)-Em(7th fret high) Bbm-Bm-Bb-Am-D-Em-G[bar](10th fret high)-G(3rd fret) D I am looking forward D Toward the shadows chasing bones G, but depending on version it could be Am? (personal bias, I like Am) Our houses hemmed into homes D Trying to be thankful D Our stories fit into phones Em And our voices lift so easily G A gift given accidentally D When we're not sure we're alone Am D-Am-D I personally instead of D-Am-D to end I do D-Am-C-D.
