Sir Stewart
Awesome. I think if we all put our heads together we could make more Weekend At Bernie's movies than Lucas makes Star Wars movies.
Kicking_Television
here is a trailer for one of the films does that mean their doing the whole movie in robot chicken form? that would be hillarious.
Mrs. Peel
You guys are completely missing the opportunity to tie into another fabulous movie, "The Serpent And The Rainbow". Bernie had just come back from a trip to the Amazon with Bill Pullman and one of the Haitians has slipped some dried Zombie powder into the jar of spiced tea he returned home with. Bernie drank the tea and becomes zombified at his swingin' pad, which we see as an extended flashback to the first Weekend At Bernie's movie (a la Lost). In the new movie, he wakes up and returns to the Amazon to retaliate with his friends Larry and Richard.

Mind-blowing connections, really.

quarter23cd
Bernie had just come back from a trip to the Amazon with Bill PullmanBill Pullman=Lone Star>=Luke Skywalker, hence negating the need for more Star Wars movies. Scientifically proven.

OOO
i suppose this means more money for my school, but i wish he'd just cut his losses (well....cut his ridiculous earnings) and get out while he still has some face. That being said, I have faith in Indiana Jones IV because Spielberg hasn't lost his touch, Harrison is Harrison, Connery is Connery, and lucas has always been a good writer, just not the best director ever... welch79
shit. this news is disheartening. i was huge fan of the films from 1976-1983 due mostly to the fact that it was what occupied the mythology of my childhood...that added to fact that they had some badass toys for a lil tyke to get lost with all day setting up bases and whatnot, but i digress. i tried to lie to myself and tell myself that these new movies, these prequels, were good, any good at all, and for a while i was successful. now i am comfortable to admit that they really are drivel, in my, let me restate, my, opinion. now if i were 5 again, these movies would be a whole lot better (think of watching rocky or the karate kid for the first time these days, as an adult); the magic is just not there, unfortunately. the wide-eyed wonder of childhood long gone. and include me in hater group of these endless sequels and "trilogies" that we get these days. has it ever been okay to just make one movie? or i'll give you two, even. but making three just for the roundness of it, or making remakes or remasters or what-have-you (a la the star wars from the late 90s) is ridiculous. hell, even the godfather has sequels that it could totally live without. i'm not saying that the trilogy has not been or could not be well used. i realize that movies are just entertainment, but, they are ceasing, seemingly, to be used as such and more as a "cash crop" that when not properly (ie hastily) cultivated are consumed despite its low-quality condition.
