Robert Allen Zimmerman (Shabtai Zisel ben Avraham) was born on May 24, 1941, in Duluth, Minnesota, and raised there and in Hibbing, Minnesota, on the Mesabi Iron Range northwest of Lake Superior.

Well, it was an interesting effort.

Me bein' the new me was hard enough.

Today would have been Miles Davis' birthday. I don't know what this has to do with Bob Dylan's birthday, which is on another day entirely, but I saw it in the paper and figured I would mention that too. (Native son of Illinois, born in Alton in 1926.)
