Wilco Worshipper
Some of my non-Wilco loving friends were actually sad that I took down What Light from my MySpace...soooooooooooo cool!!!
entropy
I still can't get behind that song. I've even started to like Shake it Off.
ponch1028
I still can't get behind that song. I've even started to like Shake it Off. Both What Light and Shake It Off are two songs that greatly benefits from the energy of the band playing it live.
Wilco Worshipper
If they gave us more of a choice over there, I'd put something else up. What Light is beautiful but overplayed to me already. So I've settled for Heavy Metal Drummer for now...that kicks butt!!!
entropy
Both What Light and Shake It Off are two songs that greatly benefits from the energy of the band playing it live. That's what I'm banking on. I can't wait for the setlists to start pouring in.

yermom
I'm still really happy about that "Heavy Metal Drummer Goth Version."
YHFTCS
I, for one, cannot find a single thing wrong with "Heavy Metal Drummer." I find myself singing it constantly. Very catchy and rhythmic, but at the same time experimental and unique. I think it's an excellent song. I haven't yet heard "What Light." I'm still working my way through each successive record. Wilco Worshipper
K, just to explain my love of HMD...you need to know that I heard it many, many times LIVE before ever hearing the actual recorded version. And to me live ANYTHING always wins out!!! Not to mention the fact, that one of the versions where Jeff sings "playing Kiss covers" he threw in about 30 additional bands i.e The Jayhawks, Uncle Tupelo, etc. and he was actually sort of laughing and having fun it was nice (A cpl extra emoticons for the person who thought we had too many already )
welch79
K, just to explain my love of HMD... worshipper, no need to explain. it's a great song. definitely no love lost on my end, and if you genuinely like it, you shouldn't feel the need to justify it to anybody else. ponch1028
Heavy Metal Drummer is one of the better sing along songs of the Wilco catalog, although I'm not sure if "oooooooooo .... hhhhhhhhhhhhhhhheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy" qualifes as sing along. It's one of Wilco's song that I prefer Jeff doing solo rather than the band performing it, especially when he namechecks other artists. Other songs I prefer solo over the band: How To Fight LonelinessIn A Future AgeCandyflossReservationsThe Late GreatsSky Blue Sky (or Lullaby For Rafters and Beams)
