Analogman
Because that is proper - one should search to see if a topic exists before posting. This is usefull in all sorts of ways - one of which, is that it gives the person who did not search a ready answer to a question they may have posted. Although, I may seem rude in doing such things, that is not my intention. One should also figure that anything Wilco related that one finds and that is old news will have already been posted on here. Also - why waste the space - when one can simply reply to the thread they found after searching.

Paula Deen
dammit, i'm slow to everything. but how come they all have ridiculous beards? how much? really wishin this would have been part of my fathers day gift to my man. i'd want them to come with an internet virtual playground, of course, you know- like webkinz. and i could make them sing and dance and perform shows, design their studio, fix their hair and their beards to my liking. i'd make jeff run in place during the entire "hummingbird" and all kinds of stuff. Now I have funny visions of making them jump around on a stage made of a cereal box. You could spray water on Glenn to get that sweaty drummer look...and you could make Jeff do the Hummingbird dance carefully because his legs have been damaged by his running routine...spin Pat's arms around windmill-style...etc. This actually sounds like fun. I'm surprised that someone with 26984 at this posting is even remotely interested in cutting down on duplication. You probably have 500 posts that say something like: another thread on this topic

You probably have 500 posts that say something like: another thread on this topic Exactly. I was going to say the same thing. In addition, OF COURSE everything Wilco related on this board is going to be old news. That's really not the point. This board isn't here solely to serve as CNN-Wilco.... it's here to provide a forum for fans to have discussions that are interesting and meaningful to them. If the same topic comes up twice in two months .... so what??
jdmel
why such a nazi about the thread thing? always? that thread was from two months ago. chill. If you write in a thread started two months ago chances are its not going to generate the same discussion as starting a new one... at a side note i think as a society we should all save nazi comparisons for genocides in excess of 6 million... not message board moderators. oceanman
Aman is not a Mod..........................but my vote is still yes. I think it's a helpful post, for everyone. Not that this topic will blow up to 50 pages, but those that do and have three plus threads on the same topic is a turn off. I will not buy the Wilco dolls...................you see what it did to Kiss!

Nonlinear Nonfiction
Hey hey hey, don't give him a hard time. Jeeesh people can be sensitive around here. I probably should have actually searched for the other toys thread...it's just not in my habits as a poster (until now). Funny thing, if I had done that in the first place this thread would never have gone astray like this. Well, actually if Analogman had never put the link in there and been called out for it then things might have stayed sane, how ironic. But Analogman...I'm not offended, I totally get it. People can write here or there but at least the two threads are connected by your reply now. So, uh, how about those toys?
