Wilco Worshipper
What song? I KNEW someone was going to ask and there's so little lyrics, I can't remember at the moment. My bad... I know what it's NOT...
Rusty Shackleford
It was Sky Blue Sky, and the Red Sox won 11-0. All in all, a good evening of TV.
someareteeth
I KNEW someone was going to ask and there's so little lyrics, I can't remember at the moment. My bad... I know what it's NOT... It was probably the one with the guitar solo from You Are My Face and the lyrics "I have no idea how this happens". It is pretty funny, for a tv spot for an overpriced car. Sorry, my one and only VW broke down near Little Big Horn, Montana. It was my last stand with Euro car.
boywiththorninside
Yeah, I saw that one during Sports Center. Sports fans love Volkswagens. It's a proven fact.

Wilco Worshipper
Only if people MAKE IT THAT WAY...we're just stating facts here, not really much else... The commercials were on... They were using You Are My Face and Sky Blue Sky... The Sox won... THE END
rwrkb
i don't remember which of those two i saw, but whatever it was ended in a way that cut the lyrics in a very poor way. bad editing.

rwrkb
yeah, it just sounded bad where they cut it. i wonder if the band had any approval over that sort of thing (i'm guessing not)
tugmoose
Question to the young adults out there in VC land: are you buying into the concept that the Volkswagen - or V-Dubs, as the kids say - is a hip, happenin' set of wheels that says a lot about who you are and what you're about? Halsey12
Question to the young adults out there in VC land: are you buying into the concept that the Volkswagen - or V-Dubs, as the kids say - is a hip, happenin' set of wheels that says a lot about who you are and what you're about? Most people I know with a Volkswagen seem to want to think they are cool, but I think they just wish they could have afforded an Audi or something. They used to be nice cars before they outsourced half the line to mexico for assembly. My dad sells them on his lot, and he is not a fan of their electrical problems (which are well documented and easy to search for).
Wilco Worshipper
Damn it...guess I shouldn't bother, eh?!?
tugmoose
Please don't do that HERE...go to the "controversy" oneMuch Thanks!!! (Or ya know...start your own thread )Sorry if you thought I was trying to hijack your thread, but it's not as if there was much of a premise to open the thread besides, "Hey, the 2nd VW commercial aired tonight." Is there any particular direction that you were hoping for with this thread, besides "Yeah, I saw it too"?
ImWalken
Question to the young adults out there in VC land: are you buying into the concept that the Volkswagen - or V-Dubs, as the kids say - is a hip, happenin' set of wheels that says a lot about who you are and what you're about? I drive a 1996 Nissan Pathfinder with nearly 200,000 miles on it. So I guess that's a no. Although the fact that they have Wilco songs on their commercials really makes me wanna buy a brand new Jetta!!!! (kidding)
