Paula Deen
ok, i just saw the SBS commercial w/ the red bug. pretty sweet except for he was checking out little girls in traffic and waving to them, then, just when you think the guy is just a pedophile, suddenly and out of nowhere, it addresses transgender issues in america. cause he went in as a dude and he came out a lady in a tennis skirt. i don't know what the hell is going on anymore. why would wilco stand for this? they are not who i thought they were. i'm so disappointed. Analogman
No, but I still wish bands would not sell their songs to be used in commercials.

uncle wilco
i saw the one with the convertable with the lyrics "maybe the sun will shine today" smartly used. at least they aren't using more than a few moments of each song and each features lyrics that go with what's featured in the ad. it's tasteful imo. i really don't have a problem with this ad campaign. i don't favor my favorite band's music used in ads in general, but in this case..at least the company seems to have a genuine respect for the band. i don't see this as a negative for wilco. caliber66
i must have missed that one.Couple drives up toward a valet parking stand, watching as valets lurch away in another patron's vehicle. Dude gets out of the car, then has second thoughts as the valet nears, and uses his fancy flip key thing like a switchblade to ward off the approaching valet. Girlfriend, who obviously expected such a development and therefore never got out of the car, rolls her eyes and shakes her head. Dude continues to brandish the "switchkey" as Jeff sings "I have no idea how this happens." Fin.

EL the Famous
i'd just like to say that i was one letter away from posting 'foreigner' as my favorite foreign band in the music section, but i decided against it.
bibleblackpredawn
I hope Wilco, Inc. makes a ton of cash of these ads and spreads around a nice fat Christmas bonus to all it's staff, on tears of all their hard core "fans" who claim they are "selling out". They've been riding the pine on commercial and financial success for far to long...and here's a big, Mexican middle finger to all of you who claim otherwise. I like the commercials too, I think I'm gonna go buy a Volkswagen today!

I like the commercials too, I think I'm gonna go buy a Volkswagen today! if these ads were meant to convince just one wilco fan to purchase a vw, then i guess they've accomplished their mission. btw: i'd been checking out passats before the whole wilco/vw thing came to light. but i still haven't bought one yet. wilco will not be a deciding factor if i ever make the deal. OOO
The only car advertising that ever worked on me was James Bond driving an Aston Martin DB5 in Goldfinger. Thats the only car I'll ever lust after.
