willywoody
don't have it digitized yet but just picked up the you can never go fast enough lp. it's atribute album to the 70's movie two lane blacktop that starred james taylor and dennis wilson. quite the strange idea for an lp but it does evoke a feeling of being out in the middle of nowhere i suppose. the recorded version of old maid seems to be mostly if not only tweedy with guitar and was probably recorded in 2002 or earlier is my best guess. i picked up the lp from music direct for 13 bucks or so for a double lp. Old Maid Girl, I think we're getting oldMy heart's grown colder And your hair's turning gray Come on, what do you sayLet's put the horse behind the cartAnd make some hay Old maidWe're not getting any youngerSo waitYou can count your chickens When you get laidOld maid Now I know you two were the best of friendsAnd you're about the only one she ever let in But she's dead and that's a factAnd what I'm getting at?I think we can do better than that Old maidWe're not getting any youngerSo waitYou can count your chickens When you get laid Now I know we've been friends sinceOh I can't remember way back whenNever in the month of MayJune August or SeptemberWell how about today? Old maidWe're not getting any youngerOld maidYou can count your chickens When you get laid
