Need advice for taping In Denver at Fillmore

Is the Fillmore ok with taping? Has anyone here taped there in the past? Just wondering what to expect. Despite the fact that Wilco is ok with taping, sometimes venues are ill-informed and can hassle you about it.

So is it safe to assume that if I try to walk through the door with my gear in my bag that security is going to stop me? But if I just stealth it I should be fine?

I can do either. Maybe just get there earlier in the day and check it out.

I don't recall seeing tapers at Fillmore shows and I've been to a lot of Fillmore shows. They frisk you at one point and check tix at another on the way in. They also have a good amount of security. The entire place is GA (save for two VIP balconies).

 

I'd call and see if they bend policy for certain bands....

 

ed. Come to think of it, I have seen tapers at Phil Lesh shows there and a few other shows. It's a band policy thing. You shouldn't have a problem.

I was at a wilco show there, in 2004, and I seem to remember there being a couple tapers.

The livenation.com info page is just a blanket statement to cover 99% of acts that will play the venue.

 

Wilco is always good about informing venues about their open taping policy. Get to the show early in the event that the venue was not informed about the open taping policy. If there are any issues, ask them to radio for Stan, Wilco's soundman, who is always able to clear things up and is very pro-taping.
