poppydawn
GPB is awesome! I haven't watched it in years, though. Need to change that. I'm currently watching the poorly edited version of High Fidelity on VH1 Classic. Not sure why, since the DVD's not even a foot away from the TV, and I wouldn't have to endure ads for VH1's upcoming Larry the Cable Guy Christmas special featuring Vicki Lawrence as Mama. I think I'm going to turn off the TV at this moment.

caliber66
I am watching GPB now, and am considering throwing High Fidelity in the DVD player next.
GtrPlyr
Great movie imo. I bought this on VHS 15-20 years ago at a video store - it was in the Horror section, you know "Round Midnight" - wooo scary stuff! I guess the vision of Dexter Gordon playing a sax on the cover screamed horror movie back in the 80s . Alain Delon as the original Mr. Ripley.

Beltmann
Take the Money and Run was on TCM earlier tonight. I hadn't seen it for probably 15 years, and had forgotten most of the best jokes. Laughed out loud more than once.
poppydawn
Fucking glorious. *sigh* One-week limited engagement in St. Louis began last night. Not sure if I'll get a chance to catch it on the big screen, which makes me sad.
M. (hristine
I watched it at home on pay per view last night. It was so gorgeous that I will see it again at the theater next weekend. Don't miss it poppydawn!

Don't miss it poppydawn! Oh, I definitely won't miss it. One way or another, I'll be watching it. I'm thinking I might leave the hubby and kiddo home on Wednesday and go see it. The kiddo and I are hopping a train to Sedalia on Thursday, so that would be a good chance for them to have some father-daughter time (and for me to catch a blissful solo break with one of my favorite human beings of all time). Right now I'm watching people filing into the Catholic church across the street in the rain. This is my Sunday morning ritual: sit in front of my living room windows, drink my coffee, and watch the faithful.
Sir Stewart
This has been a great weekend for sitting around watching movies. Ahh. This inches closer to the first part with each viewing. This opened ten years ago today, but it was a coincidence that Lady Stewart threw it on yesterday - chokes me up everytime. Radha Mitchell is amazing - why isn't she in more movies? Beltmann
I think I am the only person who doesn't like the Godfather movies. You know, even though I find them (parts 1-2 especially) to be masterfully made, I have to concede that they aren't even on the radar of my personal favorites. I could probably name 200 movies that, subjectively speaking, mean far more to me.
ZenLunatic
I just saw History of Violence, did I miss something or is this just a stupid movie? I thought it had no originality and no point.
bobbob1313
I honestly cannot think of any actor who has done a better job with a role than George C. Scott in this film. Not only is it a great movie about maybe my favorite person in American history, but when Scott is on the screen I cannot turn away. He is brilliant.
EL the Famous
Well, that was a great fucking movie. HOORAY! So glad to see so much love for that flick and I may have to watch it again myself this week. Funny enough, as much as I should have loved High Fidelity...i only marginally enjoyed it. Not bad, but nowhere near GPB.
Sir Stewart
I loved High Fidelity the first time I saw it, when I was a swinging single trying to figure out my love life - a few years later I saw it again as a happily married man and was endlessly annoyed by Cusack's character. EL the Famous
yeah, i liked the musical aspects of it...the whole relationship angle in the book/film ended up kind of tired. personally, especially at the time it came out, i identified way more w/ him in GPB...sans the hitman thing.
