MrRain422
I like the Cubs, but I'll dispute this too.On the other hand, if the Cubs finally end the drought, maybe some of the "lovable loser" mystique will finally wear off, and Cub fans will become less obnoxious.Maybe, but not likely. Didn't happen when Boston won, so yeah, I wouldn't expect it to happen for the Cubs. Now I'm in for it.
bjorn_skurj
You people don't have cable? How do you watch shows on cable? I don't understand how this happens. In some places, it remains possible to get a limited, albeit free, version of television by merely sticking a piece of metal into the air and attaching it to the back of the TV. BTW, my Metsitorial really kicks ass. You should all go out and get copies of the paper this week.

And the ridiculous "curse" horseshit has finally ceased spewing from the media. Now the obnoxious part comes from an inherant disposition to years of tradition through geographic locality, I'm afraid.

But that's like 6 channels, maybe 7 tops. If Sir Stewart doesn't have cable, then how does he watch NESN? I'm seriously baffled here. P.S. When I lived in Boston (a long time ago, mind you) cable was not an option in the Back Bay area. Or at least that was BU's party line. Anyway, I did the non-cable thing for 4 years and it pretty much blew.

Duck-Billed Catechist
sopcast is only available for windows? what are we, living in the dark ages?We are living in China, actually, as pretty much all these programs are Chinese. I'm guessing Macs aren't too big there. However, no Mac enthusiast has made a third-party port. That's on them. Hey, these are the days of Intel chips in Macs so get with the program. jenbobblehead
any fan of baseball that pisses and moans about other teams fans has no business being a fan of baseball. honestly. every freaking team has asshole fans. and every team has great fans. and every team has bandwagon fans. and every team has blah blah fuckity blah blah. JHC people, just suck it up that your team didn't make the playoffs, or revel in the fact that they did, and get back to the business of loving baseball regardless of who is playing. If you can't do that, then just follow football or something.

Anyway, I did the non-cable thing for 4 years and it pretty much blew. i purchased a month of mlb.tv earlier in the summer, and never re-subscribed but kept getting it for free. which is good, because there's no way i would have paid more money for that shitty service. so for the playoffs, i guess i'll be braving the big city and staying up late in bars, or listening to the games if they're on espn radio. MrRain422
I subscribed to mlb.tv for the whole season and it did me well. My computer monitor at home is way too friggin' small, but the service worked well enough.

About the only time I wished I had it is Cubs games, thats when Santo fills in, but for playoffs I really would like to watch. Time to find a friend or go to the local bar. Alot of the population doesnt have Cable, especially the ones who cant afford it. If you are baffled by this, you probably need to experience more of the other sides of life.
