yermom
Wilco probably has Nicotine in it. You'll have a heck of a time quitting now.
wilcohead
I'm wondering if wilco has heroin in it.......
yermom
If you think about it, Wilco probably has THC in it. Wilco is a "gateway," to things like Autumn Defense, Pronto, Loose Fur, etc. Then you're all kinds of out of it and dropping dimes on records left and right.
W(TF)
Wilco is the opiate of the masses.

lamradio
Yeah, I have only had a couple bands in my life affect me like Wilco does.. And the other bands still don't even come close.. I listen to A LOT of different music... But to me there's Wilco, and then there's everyone else..
Wilco Worshipper
I listen to A LOT of different music... But to me there's Wilco, and then there's everyone else.. Ditto
cooperissup3r
yeah wilco is amazing. the only thing holding me back from them being a band i'd want to see live a lot is that they don't really experiment at all. ps- anyone have the setlist for ACL?
TheMaker
They're getting a little static live, yeah. I haven't seen them in two years, and I'm not trying too hard to get tix anymore whenever they come around. Also, they're positioning themselves in new and shameless ways, and as much as I hate to admit it, I'm beginning to think they've rounded the corner that most great bands turn after their first decade or so together: their classic work is behind them, and now they're simply a very entertaining band. There's nothing wrong with that, and I quite like the last two records, even if I don't think they're earth-shatteringly, ball-rattlingly spectacular, but I suppose my obsession has waned and been replaced with merely a healthy interest. Hell, I barely recognize the names of half the regulars here anymore.

cmackey34
How can you have not seen them in 2 years and call them static??? Anyone who was at either the Boston or Millenium Park shows can tell you they are FAR from static (at least energetically). Sure, the setlists are eerily similar - but the enthusiasm, prescence and joy these guys are brining to their music is incredible.
wilcohead
I love wilco as Im the starter of this thread, but yeah I agree on the part about them becoming static live. They are incredible live but pretty much play the same setlist every night. I dont understand how they dont go insane playing close to the same set night after night.... wilcohead
yeah they've played like a couple older songs a night........... Thats not much of a setlist change.... Wilco's setlists are incredibly static

wilcohead
No one is saying the put on a bad show. They put on amazing shows, but cmon change your setlist up man.
mountain bed
I know I've said this many many times in other threads, but man if these guys would mix it up to the point where you could go 2-3 shows with no repeats I'd probably try to catch as many shows as I possibly could rather than just once or twice each tour. I'll bet a majority of folks would feel the same. It would seem to be a great revenue-generating idea as well (imo).
wilcohead
yeah when I saw the 2 day run in denver I couldn't even believe they played so many repeats... I mean they have to realize that most people would be going to both nights....
