BornToRun86
It sounds like everything and nothing the band has done before. A tightly polished EP that is well worth the six bucks on iTunes. Discuss.

bobfrombob
Slightly off topic - when I went to see Springsteen in Philly, I saw Point Breeze. In fact, I said to the guy I was with "hey, Point Breeze". Meant nothing to him.
gogo
I bought this on iTunes last night, but haven't listened yet. Delicious anticipation!
tongue-tied lightning
i'm a fan, will an album be coming soon ?
nettles
Theres a new one coming out on yep roc in January I believe. I've heard it a few times, if you dug the last one you'll dig this one too, kind of similar, with some more production, more musical ideas.
gogo
From their myspace page: "Marah's sixth full-length studio release Angels of Destruction will be available worldwide on January 8, 2008." They're streaming some of the EP there, too: http://www.myspace.com/marahusa

myboyblue
Thanks for posting... I would have forgotten completely. These guys have to be one of the most underrated bands around... no hyperbole intended. I've heard that Dave is now sober which is actually a bit shocking. If you've seen these guys live, they are incredible, but Dave has been known to get after it a bit.... At any rate, look forward to diving into this release. edit: - these guys SHOULD open for Wilco. Willkoman
Thanks for posting... I would have forgotten completely. These guys have to be one of the most underrated bands around... no hyperbole intended. edit: - these guys SHOULD open for Wilco. The first time I ever heard of Marah was when I saw them open for Steve Earle. I predicted major success. "Let's Cut The Crap & Hook Up Later on Tonight" is still one of my favorite first albums. Beltmann
edit: - these guys SHOULD open for Wilco. Now, there's a show I'd get pissy about if it were canceled. Love this band, but I'm not crazy about the new EP.
Kalle
I remember reading about these guys but never thinking much about them but these guys are pretty great I just downloaded everything of theirs. Thanks Via Chicago!
TheMaker
The new EP sounds to me like major label 'Mats spliced with pianee-heavy saloon music. Diggin' it up.
BornToRun86
Nice article about the boys: http://crawdaddy.wolfgangsvault.com/Article.aspx?id=3740
wskitche
This is exciting. Kids in Philly is definitely my top 10 albums of all time. By far their best - havn't heard the EP so i cant compare.
Willkoman
Just got Marah tickets for the Iron Horse in Northampton Ma. on January 20th. $12.50 plus $3.00 fee. Great live band, great venue.
