Atticus
How in good gods name do i tune to this= F# A D F# A E .THis is like reading chinese to me! Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks changing from E to F#: normally when you depress the low E string at the fifth fret, it makes the same note as the open A string tune the low E up until when you depress the string at the 3rd fret, it makes the same note as the open A string changing from G to F#: normally when you depress the fifth fret on the D string, it is the same note as the open G string. Tune the G string down a half step until it is in tune with the fourth fret on the D string changing the A to a B: tune the B string up a whole step until when you depress the B string on the 3rd fret, it makes the same note as the open high E string
froggie
> F# A D F# A E the way i'd do it is: top bass string goes up two steps to an F# (if it doesnt snap in your face!) - otherwise tune it down to give a nice droning bass sound (maybe with some buzzing as you strum/pick) leave the next as it is leave the next as it is the G string goes gown half a step the B string goes down a whole step leave the little E one as it is. EADGBE is the standard tuning

JerseyMike
Get a tuner! That is a strange tuning. Did you get that from a CS&N tune? Crosby was into some wierd tunings. My favorite is "Suite: Judy Blue Eyes": E E E E E B E

My favorite is "Suite: Judy Blue Eyes": E E E E E B E It's likely a Sonic Youth tuning. I faintly remember reading about that tuning...it's awfully strange but yeah. barnyard pimp
not a sonic youth tuning. think more like F#F#F#F#EB, GGDDD#D#, EG#EG#EG#, GABDEG, etc for them. what's so 'crazy' about F#ADF#AE ? looks like an open D w/ an F# on the bottom and an E on top instead of D. tunings altered by 3 notes don't seem so crazy to me

Asus2 can be played with all the strings barred at the 5th fret for a fuller sound. I also like to play all the 12th string harmonics each time after he says "I am yours".
