lizish
The Acorn are fantastic - that album had really impressed me. I too am addicted to that thing. So much so that I ended up buying a vinyl copy with the 'get turntable fixed' still an item way down on the to-do list. About the only thing that bugs me is the cheesecake on the cover. I mean, like, why?

jimmyjimmy
Was it worth the wait? I was slightly underwhelmed by it...Yeah, I think so.Only one spin through so far. It's generally pretty subdued ...."The Crime Window" isn't working for me yet. I'm at work and can't give it my full attention, we'll see after we live w/it for awhile.
CortezTheKiller
a nice present in my mailbox over the weekend i gotta be honest, after only a few spins this weekend, not only is this easily the Black Keys most diverse and produced album to date, after all is said and done, it may be their best too.. killer mix of mellow + rockers. Strange Times is a barnburner stompin' tune. Same Old Thing has a frickin' Ian Anderson-esque flute on it set to an almost dub-ish bass beat. some really great organ on a few tracks, in addition to banjo, acoustic guitar, bass guitar, piano, synths, etc. they went all out I'm fucking jealous as hell. muller
^ yeah - i like that track too. though, the rest of it is a bit blah. i thought it would grow on me with repeated listens but it actually had the opposite effect. whereas, an album that DOES get better and better with every listen is this, which, coincidentally i'm playing right now.
