Groo
A while ago I posted about getting a Tele. I just wanted to give you guys an update as to what I've done so far. First, some pics: Before: After: Mods: Vintage 3 Saddle bridge from a Classic 50s TelecasterAllparts Fat Neck w/custom cut bone nutKluson-style GOTOH tunersHighway One control plate, pots, and wiringElecrosocket with new Switchcraft jackFender SCN pickupsblack eBay pickguard It's originally a 2004ish Mexican made Tele. Now, pretty much the only thing original left are the body and the strap buttons. The guitar feels like a whole different animal. I'm finally happy with it, I don't plan on doing any more mods. Although, looking back, with all the money/time I've spent on doing these mods, I think it would have been better if I had just bought a Highway One Tele like my first instinct was. Groo
Thanks . And that "no more mods" thing was a dirty lie. I just ordered a set of steel saddles the other day from eBay (I think they may hold the key to the Tele sound I've been chasing).
jff
I'm not usually a fan of black pickguards in Teles, but that looks really good. The headstock looks great. Huge iimprovement over the original headstock. Nice work.

oceanman
It's a love hate relationship when talking tone preference in saddles, but I do love my brass. We should of talked earlier, I'm changing out my Hwy 1 with some new mods. I have a set of steel saddles, and pups I could of set you up w/ for a dirt cheap price.
