alison the wilca
every sunday, a wonderful publication called Parade arrives with the paper on millions of doorsteps. this week, indie haircuts are examined in the always fascinating "Personality Parade" section: Q: Who started the current trend among young male stars of wearing their hair over one eye? - Ernie Melcher, Abington, Pa. A: It evolved from the Goth look, popular with teens. But it was High School Musical star Zac Efron, 20, who made it hip. "The look is called 'emo chic,' because it expresses deeply felt emotions," says Beverly Hills hairstylist Kim Vo. To us, it looks like a bunch of guys channleing the peekaboo hairdo of '40s film start Veronica Lake. As usual, their answers are spot on!!
Sir Stewart
I love when the questions are prefaced with "There's a steak dinner riding on this one..." then they go on to ask who was the first Darren, Dick York or Dick Sargent. Nice to see they still have the same crack team of researchers that they had in 1979.
poppydawn
It's good that the elderly are interested in popular culture and what the young people of today are doing.
alison the wilca
oh yeah, those are awesome. there was one of those in this week's set of questions... it was a bet to find out who the Personality Parade thought was the best actress in the broadway play Gypsy. The Parade said they had to go dutch because it didn't agree with either of the question writer's options.

Sir Stewart
A: While Jenny "from the block" continues to struggle in her professional life, sources close to her entourage insist that her marriage to Marc Antony and the upcoming birth of their twins have her over the full moon that is her ass, and that music and movies can take the back seat that is her ass to the happiness that family life has brought. yermom
My dad thinks this is such a great "magazine." He's 81. He also like the electric co-op's magazine.
myboyblue
I believe that about every other issue of the "magazine" contains brilliant health advise like eat right and get the proper amount of exercise. The title of the article something like "What You Need to do To Live to be 81" like lynn's Dad.
ction
Q: I remember reading somewhere that Satantic rock singer, Marilyn Manson, was actually a supporting actor on the family-friendly television program The Wonder Years. This can't be true, can it?
