Yeah...those are most of the names I recognized, too. It's just a little disappointing since so many of them have been through town recently, or will be here soon.

 

yeah. but consider that last year had 1800+ bands, and that list is probably what, 1/4 to 1/3 of the full list?

 

i agree there's not a ton of OMFG names for me yet, but the point of SXSW is usually the smaller discoveries anyhow.

True that. I don't think we even knew who the headliners were at this time last year.

 

Any of the smaller names you'd recommend? I've checked out Alela Diane a bit since she's opening for Blitzen Trapper this spring. She's not bad, reminds me a bit of Jesse Sykes. And I've heard good things from friends about Dear and the Headlights.
