I've got a never-ending love for you

From now on that's all I want to do

From the first time we met I knew

I'd have a never-ending love for you

After all this time of bein' alone

We can love one another, give for each other

From now on (rest)

It's so good I can hardly stand it

Yeah, I can see it now

The distant red neon shivered in the heat

I was feeling like a stranger in a strange land

You know where people play games with the night

God, it was too hot to sleep

I followed the sound of a jukebox coming from up the levee

All of a sudden I could hear somebody whistling

Fromright behind me

I turned around and she said

"Why do you always end up down at Nick's Cafe?"

I said "I don't know, the wind just kind of pushed me this way."

She said "Hang the rich."

Catch the blue train

To places never been before

Look for me

Somewhere down the crazy river

Somewhere down the crazy river

Catch the blue train

All the way to Kokomo

You can find me

Somewhere down the crazy river

Somewhere down the crazy river

Take a picture of this

The fields are empty, abandoned '59 Chevy

Laying in the back seat listening to Little Willie John

Yea, that's when time stood still

You know, I think I'm gonna go down to Madam X

And let her read my mind

She said "That Voodoo stuff don't do nothing for me."

I'm a man with a clear destination

I'm a man with a broad imagination

You fog the mind, you stir the soul

I can't find, ... no control

Catch the blue train

To places never been before

Look for me

Somewhere down the crazy river

Somewhere down the crazy river

Catch the blue train

All the way to Kokomo

You can find me

Somewhere down the crazy river

Somewhere down the crazy river

Wait, did you hear that

Oh this is sure stirring up some ghosts for me

She said "There's one thing you've got to learn

Is not to be afraid of it."

I said "No, I like it, I like it, it's good."

She said "You like it now

But you'll learn to love it later."

I been spellbound - falling in trances

I been spellbound - falling in trances

You give me shivers - chills and fever

I been spellbound - somewhere down the crazy river

Will you comfort me in my time of need?

Can you take away the pain and hurtful deeds?

Because when we need it most, there's no rain at all

And dust settles right there on the feed.

Will you say to me a little rain's gonna come?

When the sky can't offer none to me

Cause I will come for you when my days are through

And I'll let your smile just off and carry me.

Cause when the calm comes down

We'll take the truck on into town

And buy whatever we can't seem to grow

Work these hands 'til they bleed

Cause I got mouths to feed

And I got fifteen dollars hid above the stove

Will you say to me a little rain's gonna come?

When the sky can't offer none to me

Cause I will come for you when my days are through

And I'll let your smile just off and carry me.

Cause it ain't like it was on back in those days

When everyone would offer up their hand

These old bones are worn, I've grown tiresome

I know my time is surely gonna come.

Will you comfort me in my time of need?

Can you take away the pain and hurtful deeds?

Cause I will come for you when my days are through

And I'll let your smile just off and carry me.

Lord we married young and stayed where we came from

And gave those children everything we had

Will you stay with me in my time of need?

Though it seems we had such little time for us.

Will you say to me a little rain's gonna come?

When the sky can't offer none to me

Cause I will come for you when my days are through

And I'll let your smile just off and carry me.

Love Spit Love - Am I Wrong

there's too much

that i keep to myself

and i turn my back on my faith

it's like glass

when we break

i wish no one in my place

and i've seen

you don't need their seeds

when their dirt goes in deep

and i'm lost in sleep

i can't stay

in this place

I can't stand

When the room turns round

On my fate

You give no guarantees

There's no promise

I can keep

I can't stand

I can't see my way

I feel blind

On my feet

I can't stay too long

Am i wrong?

Goodbye, lay the blame on luck

Goodbye, lay the blame on luck

Goodbye, lay the blame on luck

Goodbye, lay the blame on luck

Goodbye, lay the blame on luck

Goodbye, lay the blame on luck

I'm so tired

Of my mood

And sleep comes

With a knife, fork and a spoon

You're so pale

In your face

You let life

Get in your way

And i've seen

You don't need their seeds

When their dirt goes in deep

And i'm lost in sleep

Am i wrong?

Goodbye, lay the blame on luck

Goodbye, lay the blame on luck

Goodbye, lay the blame on luck

Goodbye, lay the blame on luck

You say you want a revolution

Well, you know

We all want to change the world

You tell me that it's evolution

Well, you know

We all want to change the world

But when you talk about destruction

Don't you know that you can count me out

Don't you know it's gonna be all right

all right, all right

You say you got a real solution

Well, you know

We'd all love to see the plan

You ask me for a contribution

Well, you know

We're doing what we can

But when you want money

for people with minds that hate

All I can tell is brother you have to wait

Don't you know it's gonna be all right

all right, all right

Ah

ah, ah, ah, ah, ah...

You say you'll change the constitution

Well, you know

We all want to change your head

You tell me it's the institution

Well, you know

You better free you mind instead

But if you go carrying pictures of chairman Mao

You ain't going to make it with anyone anyhow

Don't you know it's gonna be all right

all right, all right

all right, all right, all right

all right, all right, all right

Evrywhere I hear the sound of marching, charging feet, boy

cause summers here and the time is right for fighting in the street, boy

But what can a poor boy do

Except to sing for a rock n roll band

cause in sleepy london town

Theres just no place for a street fighting man

No

Hey! think the time is right for a palace revolution

But where I live the game to play is compromise solution

Well, then what can a poor boy do

Except to sing for a rock n roll band

cause in sleepy london town

Theres no place for a street fighting man

No

Hey! said my name is called disturbance

Ill shout and scream, Ill kill the king, Ill rail at all his servants

Well, what can a poor boy do

Except to sing for a rock n roll band

cause in sleepy london town

Theres no place for a street fighting man

No

Dark weekends in the sun out on Chelsea Road

Descending the stairs, Frankie, my one

Check your makeup in the mirror c'mon babe let's go

We'll dance 'round this dirty town 'til the night is all done

Let all the finer things sleep alone tonight

Let all the minor kings lose their thrones tonight

Don't worry about us, baby, we'll be alright

Well everybody's dying, this town's closing down

They're all sittin' down at the courthouse waiting for 'em to take the flag down

I see strange flashes in the sky up above

Gonna spend the night at the drive-in with the one that I love

At dusk the stars all appear on the screen

Yeah, just like they do each night in my dreams

But tonight's no dream, Frankie, I can feel myself too

Well now and forever my love is for you

Walk softly tonight little stranger

Yeah into these shadows we're passing through

Talk softly tonight, little angel

You make all my dream worlds come true

Well lately I've been standing out in the freezing rain

Readin' them want ads out on Chelsea Road

I'm winging down the street in search of new games

Hustling through these nightlights' diamond glow

Well Frankie I don't know what I'm gonna find

Maybe nothing at all, maybe a world I can call mine

Shining like these streetlights down here on the strand

Bright as the rain in the palm of your hand

Walk softly tonight, little stranger

Into the shadows where lovers go

Talk softly to me, little angel

Whisper your secrets so soft and low

The machinist climbs his ferris wheel like a brave

And the fire eater's lyin' in a pool of sweat, victim of the heatwave

Behind the tent the hired hand tightens his legs on the sword swallower's blade

And circus town's on the shortwave

The runway lies ahead like a great false dawn

Fat lady, big mama, Missy Bimbo sits in her chair and yawns

And the man-beast lies in his cage sniffin' popcorn

As the midget licks his fingers and suffers Missy Bimbo's scorn

Circus town's been born

Whoa, and a press roll drummer go, ballerina to and fro

Cartwheelin' up on that tightrope with a cannon blast lightin' flash

Movin' fast through the tent Mars bent, he's gonna miss his fall

Oh God save the human cannonball.

And the flying Zambinis watch Margarita do her neck twist,

And the ringmaster gets the crowd to count along: "Ninety-five, ninety-six, ninety-seven"

A ragged suitcase in his hand, he steals silently away from the circus grounds

And the highway's haunted by the carnival sounds

They dance like a great greasepaint ghost on the wind

A man in baggy pants, a lonely face, a crazy grin

Runnin' home to some small Ohio town

Jesus send some good women to save all your clowns

And circus boy dances like a monkey on barbed wire

And the barker romances with a junkie, she's got a flat tire,

And now the elephants dance real funky and the band plays like a jungle fire

Circus town's on the live wire

And the strong man Sampson lifts the midget little Tiny Tim way up on his shoulders, way up

And carries him on down the midway past the kids, past the sailors

To his dimly lit trailer

And the ferris wheel turns and turns like it ain't ever gonna stop

And the circus boss leans over, whispers into the little boy's ear "Hey son, you want to try the big top?"

All aboard, Nebraska's our next stop.

and 36 years later...

Sundown, sundown

They're taking all the tents down

Where have you gone my handsome Billy?

Sundown, sundown

The carnival trains' leavin' town

Where are you now my darlin' Billy?

We won't be dancing together on the high wire

Facing the lions with you at my side anymore

We won't be breathin' the smoke and the fire

On the midway

Hangin' from the trapeze my wrists waitin' for your wrists

Two daredevils high up on the wall of death

You throwin' the knife that lands inches from my heart

Sundown

Moonrise, moonrise

The light that was in your eyes

Has gone away

Daybreak, daybreak

The thing in you that made me ache

Has gone to stay

We'll be riding the train without you tonight

The train that keeps on movin'

Its black smoke scorching the evening sky

A million stars shining above us like every soul livin' and dead

Has been gathered together by a God to sing a hymn over your bones

Sundown, sundown

Empty are the fairgrounds

Where are you now my handsome Billy?

i dont know why i've got For what it's worth stuck in my head all morning....

There's somethin' happenin' here

What it is ain't exactly clear

There's a man with a gun, over there

Tellin' me I got to beware

(I think it's time we)

Stop, children, what's that sound?

Everybody look - what's goin' down?

There's battle lines bein' drawn

Nobody's right if everybody's wrong

Young people speakin' their minds

Gettin' so much resistance from behind

(It's time we)

Stop, hey, what's that sound?

Everybody look - what's goin' down?

What a field day for the heat

A thousand people in the street

Singin' songs and carryin' signs

Mostly sayin', "hooray for our side"

(It's time we)

Stop, hey, what's that sound?

Everybody look - what's goin' down?

Paranoia strikes deep

Into your life it will creep

It starts when you're always afraid

Step out of line, the man come and take you away

(We better)

Stop, hey, what's that sound?

Everybody look - what's goin' down?

(We better)

Stop, hey, what's that sound?

Everybody look - what's goin' down?

(We better)

Stop, now, what's that sound?

Everybody look - what's goin' down?

(We better)

Stop, children, what's that sound?

Everybody look - what's goin' down?

I don't mind

What you've left behind

But aren't you tired

But then again, I'm wired

To speed

If all goes wrong

If all goes wrong

If all goes wrong

With me

Who will you believe

I don't mind

Who you've left this time

If what transpires

Between the crash and the choirs

Is me

If all goes wrong

If all goes wrong

If all goes wrong

With me

What will you believe

Save yourself

For your soul, someone else

For keeps

Save what's left

Before you save what's kept

Nothing's free

If all goes wrong

If all goes wrong

If all goes wrong

With me

If all goes wrong

If all goes wrong

If all goes wrong

With me

Who will you believe

Looking out the window, the trees are getting closer it seems.

Thinking bout you Darling.

Adding up the cost of these dreams.

Strapped to this projectile, just a blink ago I was back in school.

Smoking by the gym door, practicing my rock-star attitude

And I'm scared shitless of what's coming next.

I'm scared shitless, these angels I see in the trees are waiting for me.

The engines have stopped now. We all know we are going down. Last call for alcohol.

Sure wish I could have another round.

And I'm scared shitless of what's coming next.

Scared shitless, these angels I see in the trees are waiting for me.

Waiting for me.

Friends in the swamp.

Friends on the ground, in the trees.

Angels and fuselage.

Just try to listen to this one on your Ipod the next time you fly.

Kristofferson tune but i love the version that T-bone and Joan sang during Dylan's '76 tour:.... i can post an mp3 of it

Silver Mantis:

Seito lived in the canyon of the dragons Sashiko lived in the valley of the moon

They met along the highway to Aomeri where danger in the forest loomed

Shashiko dressed in silks and dreamed of heroes

She was carried in a hammock draped and veiled

Her father was a cruel and brutal warlord who fearful kept her in a shell

Seito he was but a lowly servant but his master knew him to be true and brave

When he happened on the scene of her ABDUCTION he sent her captors to their graves

Seito guarded Sashiko to her palace he had no thought of ransom to conceal

She took him in and washed his cuts and bruises and laid him softly down to sleep

When morning came she rose to tell her father

Of the stranger who had ruined the kidnap plot

But jealous and enraged her father seized him and chained him in the dungeon dark

Sashiko's tears flowed like the river Edo as she pleaded Seito's freedom face to floor

But the warlord turned his back and would not hear her

His mercy withered years before

When night fell she crept down into the dungeon

Two daggers hidden underneath her coat

And there they slept in death by harakiri her father's chains around them both

Springsteen has a real handle on the darkness that lies in mens souls

I saw her standin on her front lawn just twirlin her baton

Me and her went for a ride sir and ten innocent people died

From the town of lincoln nebraska with a sawed-off .410 on my lap

Through to the badlands of wyoming I killed everything in my path

I cant say that Im sorry for the things that we done

At least for a little while sir me and her we had us some fun

The jury brought in a guilty verdict and the judge he sentenced me to death

Midnight in a prison storeroom with leather straps across my chest

Sheriff when the man pulls that switch sir and snaps my poor neck back

You make sure my pretty baby is sittin right there on my lap

They declared me unfit to live said into that great void my sould

Be hurled

They wanted to know why I did what I did

Well sir I guess theres just a meanness in this world

There's a pale horse coming

And I'm going to ride it

I'll rise in the morning

My fate decided

I'm a dead man walking

I'm a dead man walking

In St James' Parish I was born and christened

I've got my story Mister

Ain't no need for you to listen

It's just a dead man talking

Once I had a job I had a a girl

Between our dreams and actions lies this world

In the deep forest their blood and tears rushed over me

All I could feel was the drugs and the shotgun

And my fear up inside of me

Like a dead man talkin'

'Neath the summer sky my eyes went black

Sister I won't ask for forgiveness

My sins are all I have

Now the clouds above my prisonMove slowly across the sky

There's a new day

coming and my dreams are full to-night

It's coming through a hole in the air,

from those nights in Tiananmen Square.

It's coming from the feel

that this ain't exactly real,

or it's real, but it ain't exactly there.

From the wars against disorder,

from the sirens night and day,

from the fires of the homeless,

from the ashes of the gay:

Democracy is coming to the U.S.A.

It's coming through a crack in the wall;

on a visionary flood of alcohol;

from the staggering account

of the Sermon on the Mount

which I don't pretend to understand at all.

It's coming from the silence

on the dock of the bay,

from the brave, the bold, the battered

heart of Chevrolet:

Democracy is coming to the U.S.A.

It's coming from the sorrow in the street,

the holy places where the races meet;

from the homicidal bitchin'

that goes down in every kitchen

to determine who will serve and who will eat.

From the wells of disappointment

where the women kneel to pray

for the grace of God in the desert here

and the desert far away:

Democracy is coming to the U.S.A.

Sail on, sail on

O mighty Ship of State!

To the Shores of Need

Past the Reefs of Greed

Through the Squalls of Hate

Sail on, sail on, sail on, sail on.

It's coming to America first,

the cradle of the best and of the worst.

It's here they got the range

and the machinery for change

and it's here they got the spiritual thirst.

It's here the family's broken

and it's here the lonely say

that the heart has got to open

in a fundamental way:

Democracy is coming to the U.S.A.

It's coming from the women and the men.

O baby, we'll be making love again.

We'll be going down so deep

the river's going to weep,

and the mountain's going to shout Amen!

It's coming like the tidal flood

beneath the lunar sway,

imperial, mysterious,

in amorous array:

Democracy is coming to the U.S.A.

Sail on, sail on ...

I'm sentimental, if you know what I mean

I love the country but I can't stand the scene.

And I'm neither left or right

I'm just staying home tonight,

getting lost in that hopeless little screen.

But I'm stubborn as those garbage bags

that Time cannot decay,

I'm junk but I'm still holding up

this little wild bouquet:

Democracy is coming to the U.S.A.

Won't you scratch my itch sweet annie rich

And welcome me back to town

Come out on your porch or i'll step into your parlor

And i'll show you how it all went down

Out with the truckers and the kickers and the cowboy angels

And a good saloon in every single town

Oh, and i remember something you once told me

And i'll be damned if it did not come true

Twenty thousand roads i went down, down, down

And they all lead me straight back home to you

`cause i headed west to grow up with the country

Across those prairies with the waves of grain

And i saw my devil,

And i saw my deep blue sea

And i thought about a calico bonnet from

Cheyenne to tennessee

We flew straight across that river bridge,

Last night a half past two

The switchman wave his lantern goodbye

And so long as we went rolling through

Billboards and truckstops pass by the grievous angel

And now i know just what i have to do

And the man on the radio won't leave me alone

He wants to take my money for something

That i've never been shown

And i saw my devil,

And i saw my deep blue sea

And i thought about a calico bonnet from

Cheyenne to tennessee

The news i could bring i met up with the king

On his head an amphetamine crown

He talked about unbuckling that old bible belt

And lighted out for some desert town

Out with the truckers and the kickers and the cowboy angels

And a good saloon in every single town

Oh, but i remembered something you once told me

And i'll be damned if it did not come true

Twenty thousand roads i went down, down, down

And they all lead me straight back home to you

Twenty thousand roads i went down, down, down

And they all lead me straight back home to you

Baby, I know you cannot hear me now

'Cause you're fast asleep

But I love you now

Colors inside your head go spinning around

Like a ferris wheel

Exploding and falling to the ground

Oh, people are screaming, people are screaming

My baby, she's dreaming

Oh, people are shouting, people are freaking

I'm just staring at the ceiling

Waiting for the feeling

Oh, oh but when she calls,

I know she's the one

Makes me want her harder

Makes me want to be a little stronger

Still I see monsters

Still I see monsters

Baby, I know you cannot hear me now

'Cause you're flying around

At the speed of sound

Colors inside your head go spinning around

Like a ferris wheel

Exploding and falling to the ground

Oh, people are screaming, people are screaming

My babies, she's dreaming

Oh, people are shouting, people are freaking

I'm just staring at the ceiling

Waiting for the feeling

Oh, oh when she calls

I know that she's the one

Makes me want it harder

Makes me want to be a little stronger

Darling, there is something I must tell you, you must know.

But it's so hard to say the words I feel.

This fancy that I'm on has been going on too long.

It's time we stopped pretending things are real.

'Cause I've been living deep in sin. I've been living blind.

And I don't know just what's right or wrong.

To take a chance on losing you was such a silly thing to do.

The chance I might wake up and find you gone.

Blue, so blue, my love is burning blue.

Any brighter flame would be a lie.

Blue, so blue, my love still burns for you,

But I know that I'll only make you cry.

A thief can only steal from you. He cannot break your heart.

He'll never touch the precious things inside.

So one like you should surely be miles and miles away from me,

Then you'd never care how much I've lied.

I was driving through my hometown

I was just kinda killin' time

When I seen a face staring out of a black velvet painting

From the window of the five and dime

I couldn't quite recall the name

But the pose looked familiar to me

So I asked the salesgirl "Who was that man

Between the doberman and Bruce Lee?"

She said "Just a local hero"

"Local hero" she said with a smile

"Yeah a local hero he used to live here for a while"

I met a stranger dressed in black

At the train station

He said "Son your soul can be saved"

There's beautiful women nights of low livin'

And some dangerous money to be made

There's a big town 'cross the whiskey line

And if we turn the right cards up

They make us boss the devil pays off

And them folks that are real hard up

They get their local hero

Somebody with the right style

They get their local hero

Somebody with just the right smile

Well I learned my job I learned it well

Fit myself with religion and a story to tell

First they made me the king, then they made me pope

Then they brought the rope

I woke to a gypsy girl sayin' "Drink this"

Well my hands had lost all sensation

These days I'm feeling all right

'Cept I can't tell my courage from my desperation

From the tainted chalice

Well I drunk some heady wine

Tonight I'm layin' here

But there's something in my ear

Sayin' there's a little town just beneath the floodline

Needs a local hero

Somebody with the right style

Lookin' for a local hero

Someone with the right smile

Local hero local hero she said with a smile

Local hero he used to live here for a while

Bobby said he'd pull out Bobby stayed in

Janey had a baby it wasn't any sin

They were set to marry on a summer day

Bobby got scared and he ran away

Jane moved in with her ma out on Shawnee Lake

She sighed Ma sometimes my whole life feels like one big mistake

She settled in in a back room time passed on

Later that winter a son came along

Spare parts

And broken hearts

Keep the world turnin' around

Now Janey walked that baby across the floor night after night

But she was a young girl and she missed the party lights

Meanwhile in South Texas in a dirty oil patch

Bobby heard 'bout his son bein' born and swore he wasn't ever goin' back

Spare parts

And broken hearts

Keep the world turnin' around

Janey heard about a woman over in Calverton

Put her baby in the river let the river roll on

She looked at her boy in the crib where he lay

Got down on her knees cried till she prayed

Mist was on the water low run the tide

Janey held her son down at the riverside

Waist deep in water how bright the sun shone

She lifted him in her arms and carried him home

As he lay sleeping in her bed Janey took a look around at everything

Went to a drawer in her bureau and got out her old engagement ring

Took out her wedding dress tied that ring up in its sash

Went straight down to the pawn shop man and walked out with some good cold cash

Spare parts

And broken hearts

Keep the world turnin' around

One Hundred Dollars - Careless Love

Well I know the cracks in the ceiling

Like the cabbies know the streets in this town

Where the plaster is crumbled from the couple upstairs

Pounding their feet on the ground

Where the paint runs off to a territory

Where it really just shouldn’t be

It\'s a sloppy paint job

But not as sloppy as the way that you do me

I never come but it don\'t matter

I could be any other girl

My head planted on that pillow

My eyes fixed up above

Is this what they meant when they sang Careless Love?

What’s insane of a woman who’s pummeled his heart

Her sweat love it proved untrue

Well I know she strayed

But before she did

Did her legs lie limp as mine do

Did she plan her escape

As his guts smacked down on her

On her stomach so still and lifeless

Well I’m willing to wager that she was getting done

By a love that he called careless

I never come but it don\'t matter

I could be any other girl

My head planted on that pillow

My eyes fixed up above

Is this what they meant when they sang Careless Love?

Well I stripped down my pillow and

I gathered all my things

I packed that case like a bag

Took a dagger like a pen

And into his oak bed, these words of warning did tag

‘If the love that you give

Ain’t the love that you’re getting

Then like a constellation, move on’

These words meant to be read by the next little head

That he should lay a hand upon

I won’t come home and it don\'t matter

He could find any other girl

Her head planted on that pillow

Her eyes fixed up above

Is this what they meant when they sang Careless Love
