Moe_Syzlak
I have a VERY smart friend (Harvard PhD) that works for BP in Europe. She is working on alternative energies and is an Obama supporter. I have no doubt she has contributed *something* to his campaign. That doesn't mean she is pro-OIL. She is an oil company employee who is dedicated to finding ways out of fossil fuel dependence. Should her contributions to Obama be looked at negatively?
Good Old Neon
You would fall in the "I did not vote" group Or, you're saying you have a political conscience but you don't agree with any of the existing parties.
fatheadfred
apparently exxon, chevron and bp employees have given obama more than mccain but the oil and gas industry overall has given over 3 times as much to mccain. this link has a neat breakdown by industry if you like campain fund stats. Thanks, I was assuming there was some trickery involved in the initial statement. And boy, Gdub looks hankered in that picture. Can't wait for the Oliver Stone movie. At times I feel sorry for Gdub, then I think about how many people have died, how much face we have lost, how much debt we've accumulated, how our environmental policies have been sidestepped...then I go back to hatin again. Good Old Neon
I didn't say he wasn't. Yet, correct me if I'm wrong, you voted for him.....twice?
fatheadfred
Or, you're saying you have a political conscience but you don't agree with any of the existing parties. All or nothing, black or white are philosophies that do not fit the political theater.

Good Old Neon
yep, and proud of it. So, you would proudly vote for a douchebag - twice? Yet you wouldn't vote for Gore or Kerry because they, too, are douchbags?

Spawn's dad
If one beats themselves up for a decision they made in the past when they clearly couldn't predict the future and had to make a choice...well, they're a douchebag. Anyone who insinuates that they should feel bad about that should frankly be suspended from the interweb.

fatheadfred
and you're clearly on the side of one and not the other, despite any misperceptions you may have about your postings. And you're clearly misunderstanding that reflection is our way of protecting ourselves from physical and mental harm. It could also be used for empathic humans to avoid causing harm to others. Your posts are entertaining, at best. That assumes I think it was a mistake. That is a good point. We differ on the effectiveness of Gdub's 8 years in office.
