uncool2pillow
People who regularly check Drudge Report may have seen this: http://www.cuil.com/ He also links to this article. My first visit was very disappointing. It doesn't search phrases enclosed by double quotes and has no advanced search button.
Duck-Billed Catechist
Read about it last night. I'm not feeling it.

mfwahl
Not liking it either. Pulls up a lot of crap.

Duck-Billed Catechist
I'll see your HotBot and raise you a WebCrawler. Unless there are major changes coming, it looks like the venture capitalists who invested in this site got a lot of shit!
lamradio
Yeah, webcrawler used to be my favorite back in the early 90's. Not too impressed with this cuil deal. It's not terrible, but by far no Google.
explodo
I think it sucks. Layout like a newspaper in columns? No dice. I want something that tells me relevance by order on the page. And it was slllllooooowwwwww. Probably server overload and all, but still....not a good first impression. Also, no video/image/blog/etc. specialized searches? I'm going back to Dogpile! Gobias Industries
Eeegh. Cuil says: "We didn’t find any results: Some reasons might be... * a typo. Please check your spelling." No dammit. YOU check my spelling and offer me suggestions. "You searched for Falloutboy...did you mean: piece of shit?"
Welsh Rich
I actually liked the way it displayed the results but, yeah, I found it a poor way to find info. Gave it a prolonged chance today whilst troubleshooting some stuff and Google kicked it's ass.
okp greg
they had to of dumped a lot of money into promoting this thing, because I can't see how word of mouth would have ever made something this ineffective create such a buzz. It has some good ideas, like the explore by category, but the results are pretty damn inaccurate.
