watch me fall
I haven't read through the thread and I'm not going to but there are several reasons I just don't care anymore: -Trampoline?-Walking?-Badminton?-Handball?-shooting?-synchronized swimming/diving? Next thing you know, NASCAR will be an Olympic sport. Ridiculous.
caliber66
Team handball is fucking badass.
cryptique
Team handball is fucking badass. It was badass for the first five minutes I watched it. After that, it was kinda dull.
Duck-Billed Catechist
Walking is no longer an event, I believe.

tugmoose
That 100 fly was like my race in South Jerseys 30 years ago. I led, I led, I led, until the last 5 yards, and I died and got the silver.
Sir Stewart
Whenever they show Phelps with his iPod, I say to my wife "Coldplay." If anyone on Earth listens to Coldplay, it's that guy.
austrya
http://blogs.zdnet.com/Apple/?p=2142 So maybe not Coldplay...
Sir Stewart
I sit corrected. I'm still gonna say it though. Also - I wasn't dissing Phelps (just realized my post above sounds snarky).
Edie
I say to myself that surely he can get a better pair of earbuds. Those Apple ones are

austrya
I didn't think it sounded too snarky. I was just curious so I googled it. I can't picture him listening to hip hop/rap but maybe he only listens to that to stay in the zone or whatever. I bet he really does listen to Coldplay when he's not at the olympics... tugmoose
Not to make this a "Me" thing, but when I was competing back in pre-walkman days, I kept a couple Skynard tunes in my head: "What's Your Name?" and "Gimme Three Steps."
Edie
Agreed. Hi Edie. Hi Prince Peter

cryptique
http://sports.yahoo.com/olympics/beijing/t...taJh4#ATM092100Yeah, but did you see any of it? Those dudes are running, not walking. I thought you had to have at least one foot touching the ground at all times, but they showed some slow-motion replay and that simply wasn't happening. Maybe I'm mistaken about the one-foot-on-the-ground thing, but what else would differentiate it from running?

tugmoose
That swimming guy got his eighth medal. So now we can go back to obsessing on Brett Favre. Awesome shots of the 100 fly finish here. Kinda looks like Phelps' hands aren't hitting the same time. DQ?
