Pocahontas
Fucking McCain called himself a maverick. I was with him up to that point. What a douche.Don't forget his maverick partner Sarah.
John Smith
If he pulls off his jacket and is wearing a "Maverickocity" t-shirt underneath I'll vote for him...that's the only way I'll vote for him.

Guest Speed Racer
Oh, sorry. Wow, I could listen to McCain try to say 'Ahmadinejad' all day long.
Good Old Neon
As someone who holds no great love in his heart for Obama, I think he is doing extremely well. McCain's answers sound as though they're served out of a can, Obama's tone is much more conversational and effective. I'm impressed.
bobbob1313
Obama holds a slight lead so far for me, mostly because of Iran. They were tied before this for me, and Obama's been very good on Iran and McCain is sounding a little desperate.

markosis
That's okay, all epileptics are liberals anyway. They need to pick themselves up by the bootstraps, start being mavericks.
trestle
oh, i get it........ the mccain team decided that their sound bite would be "what senator obama doesn't understand....." shysty little devils.......it's short and sweet and most importantly mccain can remember it. the albino iguana has embraced the "new transparency" yet fails to understand that their panties are showing. oh, i get it........ the mccain team decided that their sound bite would be "what senator obama doesn't understand....." shysty little devils.......it's short and sweet and most importantly mccain can remember it. the albino iguana has embraced the "new transparency" yet fails to understand that their panties are showing. or rather, depends..... Good Old Neon
Obama is consistently scoring much higher on the CNN audience reaction thing-a-majigy - especially among independents - whereas, McCain is tanking.
John Smith
McCain is blinking his eyes more than Bush could ever have imagined blinking. It's dizzying.
austrya
I forgot to set my DVR to record the debate. I just got home and turned it on for the last 7 minutes.
PigSooie
A couple of thoughts from the debate: 1. McCain's arm movements freak me out. Domo arigato, Mr. Roboto? 2. I just walked outside of my front door in North Mississippi, and it smells funny outside. 3. I've seen Wilco in the place they had the debate.

bobbob1313
So, Obama won big time to you guys right? I think it's very close. McCain really put him on the ropes at the end of the Iran question, but Obama finished very well.
Party @ the Moontower
I just want to say that already, 15 minutes in, this is so much better than Bush-Kerry debates. It's nice to have a couple of guys who can actually speak their minds. It is making things a little weird, but I like that the moderator is kind of forcing them to go at it. YEAH! I kind of got that feeling. What's your take Bobbob? I need to hear from the youth.
trestle
I thought it interesting that in the state of Mississippi, when Barack and Michelle waved and exited the stage, the crowd seemed to overwhelmingly cheer and approve them. Here's hoping that this is a sign of the very long way that we have come.

Mostly that. Obama seemed very flustered from McCain's big shot in Iran, but he regained his composure and finished very strong. When he turned toward the camera at the end and did his whole "american dream" spcheil, he definitely came off way stronger than McCain's POW finish. I don't think anyone will be swayed by that, but i think people on both sides should be surprised by how well the other guy did. Each side expected their guy to mop the floor, and neither did. McCain had the biggest punches, but Obama made it through and was more consistent.

Not that I agreed with him more on the issues, but he seemed to score more points, as it were.
