solace
Blood Bank is amazing... maybe one of Justin's best songs to date imo: JAGJAGUWAR is proud to announce the worldwide release of a new, four-song 12-inch/CDEP by Bon Iver entitled "Blood Bank". (It will be released in the U.K./Eire on January 19 and in the U.S. on January 20. Release dates in other territories to occur on January 20 or later.) The new EP will be for sale in vinyl form at Bon Iver's upcoming UK and US tours in December. Those who purchase the 12" will be able to activate the digital download coupon on the January release date. From the title track's remembrance of the winter warmth we seek, to the summer love tribute of b-side gem "Babys", Bon Iver's snow-blanketed harmonies live across the seasons. Still, there is a reverence for sabbatical, solitude and the winding down of time. As much as "For Emma, Forever Ago" is about the cold, the Blood Bank collection is about the warmth that gets you through it. ALBUM TRACK LISTING: 1. Blood Bank 2. Beach Baby 3. Babys 4. Woods The band performed a couple of these new songs on their last tour, and a few recordings have ended up on YouTube. The die-hard fan might be able to satiate themselves by checking these out: "Blood Bank": "Babys": If "Blood Bank" wasn't exciting enough, Justin Vernon and friends will be meeting Jagjaguwar's home state hero, David Letterman on December 11th when they tape a performance for The Late Show to be aired on or around that day. If, in your delight about "Blood Bank", you glossed over the previous sentence, let me say it one more time: Bon Iver's performing on The Late Show With David Letterman! Uhhhhhh, you got any gum? lamradio
Bon was amazing opening for Wilco back in August. The sound was so clear, there was so much emotion in their faces.. Everyone sang (even the drummer)... Amazing performance, and I can't wait for the new stuff!

Elixir Sue
I'm so excited...last time Bon Iver came to Kentucky (Covington, I think), we had a big snowstorm and I was too scared to venture out. Total bummer. I need to check out Tallest Man on Earth before next month! I had been meaning to, anyway.

H.Stone
I agree that Blood Bank is probably the best Justin song I've heard. I can't wait for the release. And I also am not fond of Babys. You got any gum? I don't get it, unless it's a vomit joke. It's a Letterman reference--one of his catch phrases. more out of tune falsetto singing. that's all you need to be an indie god these days. Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz....

Ha! So it`s NOT just me... Decent record, nothing to write home about. The live stuff is a massive leap over the actual LP, I`ll say that.
Sir Stewart
It's a Letterman reference--one of his catch phrases. To be more specific - it's a reference to Norm MacDonald's impression of Letterman. Also - I'll never for the life of me understand what drives people to click into a thread about an artist they don't like and post negative comments about them. It's not like this thread is titled "Bon Iver - what do you think?"

It's not like this thread is titled "Bon Iver - what do you think?" low self esteem. Justin was at the Megafaun + Rosebuds show here in St. Paul last night, played a song with each and sang along w/ the crowd on the Rosebuds last 3 songs (played on the floor in front of the stage). awesome show. have some iPhone videos: http://www.qik.com/solace
Guest Jules
I don't care what you say, I will still consider this an '08 release.
