cryptique
Huh. So they extended the offer "due to consumer demand." In other words, their servers got slammed because they didn't prepare properly for the onslaught.

yermom
I tried and it timed out or something. So, not only do I get no free beverage, I had 35 precious seconds of my life stolen from me! I prefer Cherry Coke anyhow.

Dogshit? It tastes more like regular Dr Pepper than sucking on a Sharpie marker does? Dumb ass ad.

Sir Stewart
It tastes more like Dr Pepper than Dr Pepper. Duh. So they're saying the diet version of their product tastes more like the regular version than said regular version? That's even stupider than I was thinking, then. Elixir Sue
What bugs me is the tagline in their ads - "Diet Dr Pepper tastes more like regular Dr Pepper"...dahh...more than what? Dogshit? It tastes more like regular Dr Pepper than sucking on a Sharpie marker does? Dumb ass ad.I thought they meant that Diet Dr. Pepper tastes more like regular Dr. Pepper than it used to. I could be wrong, though. And actually, what I like about Diet Dr. Pepper is that it DOESN'T taste like regular Dr. Pepper.
yermom
It tastes like regular Dr. Pepper minus the sugar (which is not great.) They both give me mad gas.

stickman
Please do. In the meantime, I'll hit the streets doing a survey on what the people think it means. Then we can compare notes.
cryptique
These days, per doctor's (Dr's?) orders, if I want some Dr Pepper, I am limited to drinking caffeine-free Diet Dr Pepper. Fortunately, the stuff's pretty decent. It's a bit less tasty than Diet Dr Pepper. So, perhaps that's what the ad campaign means: "Diet Dr Pepper tastes more like regular Dr Pepper ... than caffeine-free Diet Dr Pepper does."

mfwahl
I can't believe they answered. So, does it taste more like Dr. Pepper than a previous incarnation of Diet Dr. Pepper? Or does it mean it mean Diet Dr. Pepper tastes more like Dr. Pepper than Diet Dr. Pepper? Cause that's just silly. Now that you have a rapport with them maybe you can find this out: Can I refer to it as "Dr. Pepper Diet" or is that insider lingo only for Customer Relations staff?
