dondoboy
I listen to Limbaugh when I get the chance. He's a fairly entertaining guy. He freely admits he's merely an entertainer. Hannity is just an idiot. Stabenow is a joke, even in Michigan. I can't figure out how she gets re-elected here. And the left, of which I am a proud member, should shut up. We have a pretty left-wing, government subsidized radio outlet: NPR.
lamradio
Maybe, but I am pretty sure the feeling is mutual. You are correct on that one. The hatred between the right and left has always amazed me. I do a lot of research on the American Civil War, and some of the things folks were saying before the war sound disturbingly similar to some of the things that are said today between the right and left. cryptique
NPR, despite conservative cries to the contrary, is probably the most balanced news outlet available today.Yup. And under Bush, it actually began to skew rightward on occasion (though on the whole I think it remained pretty balanced). Wasn't it Colbert who said "truth has a liberal bias"? MattZ
Don't kid yourself. I know plenty of people that think that NPR is left wing. So far as I can tell, this is because they will occasionally report on issues from the Palestinian perspective.

dondoboy
Exactly. He has to pass himself off as an entertainer, because it helps him skirt slander laws.So does Larry Flynt.
cryptique
Stabenow is a joke, even in Michigan. I can't figure out how she gets re-elected here.Because the people she's run against have been bigger jokes (see: Spencer Abraham, Mike Bouchard). I've voted for her twice, while holding my nose. I'm hoping she opts for retirement next time around, or that someone from her own party challenges her and wins the nomination. She's useless.
JUDE
You know for a bunch of guys who despise him and wouldn't listen to his show if your lives depended on it, you must have done quite a bit of research in order to have such a grasp of his modus operandi. 24/7 Baby! lamradio
Conservatives think Liberals are stupid, Liberals think Conservatives are stupid. It will always be that way.. It's a Yin and yang thing..... The best is to find a happy medium and that's what I strive for..

Seems to me that the happy medium is a stimulus bill stripped of any sort of chance of making a difference because it has to make everyone everywhere happy.
Good Old Neon
So does Larry Flynt. True, but I attribute about as much value to his opinion as I do Rush
Atticus
If the fairness doctrine is going to be applied to AM talk radio then I think it's only fair for it to apply to FM stations as well--in other words at least one of them needs to be forced to play something I can stand to listen to. I think your on to something here. More reason not to have the fairness doctrine. It's not fair that every time I turn on an FM station, feces literally starts pouring out of my speakers.... But I just turn the radio off, and I don't listen.. Same should apply for AM talk radio. Just turn the damn radio off, don't listen..
dondoboy
I don't think conservatives are stupid. Some of my best friends are conservatives. Partisanship, while blamed for nearly every stinking problem that this country has, is what the country's founders wanted. They wanted intelligent discussion and arguements. Sometimes it seems that only James Carville and Mary Matalin remember that.

jakobnicholas
Every so often I catch 15-20 minutes of Michael Savage. He's pretty entertaining and interesting. I turned on Hannity during the election and couldn't take it. If people think of him when they think of Conservatives, I can see why they hate Conservatives. Rush, years ago, was very funny. He'd do his politically-correct football picks, which was always funny. Haven't listened in a long time. In the Kansas City area, 710 KCMO has the Chris Stigall Show in the mornings. He's quite good. I find it hard to believe that any law will be passed to mandate what can or can't be aired on the radio, but obviously it would be a disgrace. To me, I think many who listen to Conservative talk find it to be an alterantive to what they see on NBC, CBS, ABC, CNN, MSNBC. I DON'T think most of these listeners are idioits. Rather, I think they absorb news and opinions from various outlets, and then form they're own thoughts. Democrats I know listen to NPR. Isn't that pretty much Liberal radio? That's because it's the same fight, in essence - the struggle between those who wish to expand human freedom in the social context and those who wish to contract it.
