Melissa
So I just tried to buy pre-sale tickets, but they looked to be all in the back of the reserved seating area. Me being the quitter I am, I decided to wait for open sale, to see if any better seat will open up. Has anyone been to ArtPark before? How are the lawn seats? I figured I might as well go with those, since those are usually more fun anyway. I'm surprised that they're not playing in the actual city of Buffalo, but I suppose there aren't really a lot of choices for larger acts here. They're probably too big for the Town Ballroom or the Tralf but that would have been awesome. If ArtPark is like everything else in Western New York, it's probably solidly mediocre. Who else here is going? What were your results from pre-sale, if any? Anyone else resigned themselves to lawn seats?
TwiggyCapone
I was able to secure tickets in the first tier. This is a super venue for a summer show! With a capacity of just 4,400 (GA lawn and R indoor seats), I hope spurious rumors of Western NY mediocrity will drive snooty, generalizing hipsters to other venues. Three dollars and 63 cents
I think this ends up being the closest show for me, so chances are I'll be there. I definitely will if it's the last show for that leg of the tour besides the festival date in Minnesota.

Niagara Falls! not exactly a mediocre venue....Hell the last time Wilco played WNY it was in a parking lot in front of the Albright-Knox and that wasn't mediocre either...Jeff called it "Ideal." Throw in Conor Oberst and the Mystic Valley Band and this is the jam!!!

othersongs
Now that Conor and Co. are coming, I will definitely want to hit up this show! When does regular tickets go on sale?
Wilco2332
Been trying to figure this out, got first tier but I have no idea what these seats are like, is that a good thing? I'd like to get seating as opposed to being out on the lawn, for a few reasons.
Melissa
Regular tickets go on sale Friday. Far be it from me to offend those of you who love WNY, I didn't mean it as an insult, more as a self-loathing gibe . Also, as a hipster, as long as they serve PBR and there's enough room in the seats for me to cross my arms and sneer disapprovingly, I'm sure I'll have a mediocre time. I just wanted to get a feel for the venue, as I've been to outdoor shows where there was crappy sound and the "lawn seats" were the worst seats in the house, not to mention rife with drunk kids trying to yell over the show. How will I be able to act disinterested if I can't hear it? And really, opening an IKEA could hardly be the worst thing for WNY. Better than a Bass Pro?
TheMaker
Ah, goddammit. I guess this means there won't be a Toronto date after all. I'll second the nod for a show in the Gorge, being local to the Falls 'n' all. Annnnnnd because I don't have a passport.
lucky13
I hear that tickets go on sale tomorrow (friday) but see nothing on tickets.com. Does anyone have any info
Doug C
Well, I said to myself that if I can get good seats today for Lewiston, then it's Lewiston. If not then it'll be Portland. Lewiston it is. Orchestra pit right, row 2, seats 116 and 118. WHOOT!!!! Pardon me. I'm excited.
TwiggyCapone
There are still good seats available for this show! A few folks have asked, here's the site:linkitydoodah

Melissa
Dang, I just went with lawn tickets. I'm sure it'll still be fun, though. I wonder what the chances are that it will sell out, as I had friends who wanted to go, but probably won't get tickets for a little while. I'm so excited, glad to hear it's a nice venue! W(TF)
I would guess that it'll sell out, with some help from the Canada side of the border. Rochester was basically sold out, and the crowd was enthused. And I don't think Wilco has played the Buffalo area for quite a while.
Uncle Jeffro
My wife and I are attending - Front Row Center. I bought other tickets through the presale and then gave it another shot during the regular sale. I was in a meeting at work pretending to be learning a new program we are rolling out and I kept throwing back for Front Row on my laptop. It was very difficult to keep a straight face when Orchestra Center Row 1 came up. This is our 3rd Wilco concert - Rochester last December was our first, and we just roadtripped 18 hours (roundtrip) to the Athens, Ohio. Plus, we saw Tweedy acoustic in NoHo. The Rochester show made me a believer and I convinced my wife to see some more shows. Luckily she is hooked as well - she just put her Wilco Now bumper sticker on her car. On another note, in the Extra Tickets section I posted the 2 extra tickets we have for the Buffalo show. They are the ones I bought in the presale. I will sell the pair for $70. This is a little under face value. The location is Grand Tier Left, Row G, seats 3&5 (next to each other). To see a picture of where the seats are, click here http://www.artpark.net/content/images/media/img011.jpg The seats in the link are on the right side, mine are the same seats but on the left. The best thing about the seats is that there will be no one standing in front of you. We had 10th row seats in Athens but my wife had someone the size of a NFL linebacker standing in front of her. So my goal was to get seats where there would be no one immediately in front of us. My email is in the posting in the Extra Tickets, if anyone is interested then shoot me an email. See everyone in July!
Melissa
Two more weeks (roughly!) until the show! Hooray! I hope everyone is enjoying their new album to get pumped up for the show! Now, I am here to request a favor from you kindly VC members. I desperately need a ride to this show since my car is out of commission! I don't think the NFTA goes out to Lewiston either, especially not on a Sunday. Are any of you kindred souls carpooling, or perhaps know of someone who is? I live in the city of Buffalo, not too out of the way. I can chip in with gas money and snacks and parking fees or whatever! Please let me know if you can lend a fellow Wilco fan a hand! Drop me a PM or an e-mail.
Melissa
Bumping this, maybe someone will see it and have pity on my poor stranded soul. If I don't get a ride then I hope everyone who is going has a good time, I'll just be holding out until their next visit to the area :-(
Preferred B
Try Wilco's ride-sharing program, Passenger Side: http://apps.facebook.com/carpool/v2/ride/add?event_page_id=64&WILCO-_-PASSENGER-SID=true
Wilco2332
Looking forward to the gig this weekend, sitting somewhere over to the left in the venue seating so I hope it's a good spot. I actually am wondering what is their policy on taking photos?
