M. (hristine
If you haven't seen The Future is Unwritten, I beg you. I love you, sweet shaman. Safe travels.
Gobias Industries
Joe Strummer, You changed the course my life has taken, and guided me down the right path of living in this world. And for that, you are always and forever in my heart. I love you, man.
myboyblue
For me, he is without question the artist that I lost too prematurely. I don't think this guy was even close to his peak...and that is saying something with his output. Not a week goes by where I don't listen to him in one form or another. Moss
I got to see Joe Live with the Mescaleros, never saw the Clash. The concert was a life changer though. It's my oldest daughters favorite artist which makes me very proud.
PopTodd
I saw Joe when he toured for Earthquake Weather. He got up for an encore and dedicated a song "...for that Big Audio Dynamite pussy, Mick Jones!"Then he played "Love Kills". I don't think The Clash were ever going to reunite. But... RIP, Joe. We do miss you.
Dude
Streetcore is such a good album. Joe basically wrote his own epitaph with Long Shadow, intended for Cash but better applied to Joe himself: And if you put it all togetherYou didn’t even once relentYou cast a long shadowAnd that is your testament Somewhere in my soulthere’s always Rock ‘n’ Roll.Yeah! As for the Clash reuniting, it seems relatively certain Joe, Mick and Paul were up for it at the Rock and Roll HOF induction ceremony. I think the holdout was Topper. Joe faxed him pleading with him to join them the day he died.
tongue-tied lightning
I believe it was Paul who refused to play the RRHOF.
Dude
I believe it was Paul who refused to play the RRHOF.You could be right, something to do with it being selling out and contrary to the spirit of the Clash to play an event with $1,000 tickets and whatever.
