blue_94_trooper
Isn't smoking anything pretty much illegal in all enclosed establishments in MA & even NH too? I agree, it's unusual to see the obvious smoking of anything nowadays. I'm not quite sure I understand what he's trying to say with this sentence. Is he saying that "It's Just That Simple" sounds like New Riders of the Purple Sage? Or is he saying that it is one of their songs? "In the style of"
bböp
The band closed with an avalanche of guitar rock, from straightforward pop (“Heavy Metal’’) to rave-ups (“Casino Queen’’ and “Outta Mind (Outta Sight)’’). Wilco concluded last night’s show, as they have on many nights since the death of Alex Chilton, with a tribute to the former member of the Box Tops and Big Star. Three hours after they walked on stage, Tweedy, Cline, Stirratt, drummer Glenn Kotche, keyboardist Mikael Jorgensen, and sideman Pat Sansone played Big Star’s “Thank You Friends.’’ Not a bad review, I guess. To nitpick the last few paragraphs, though, I assume he just accidentally left out the "Drummer" in "Heavy Metal Drummer," and it should have been "Outtasite (Outta Mind)" of course. And it's not really accurate to say they "concluded last night's show" with "Thank You Friends."

I've been reading 1,000 work-related documents for three weeks and have been having difficulty comprehending other texts as of late...my brain is fried.

Nice Shot esp the 1st Orpheum my old hood...Man went up to NH can't say it was a letdown thinking the boys were tired after The Knockout Show in BostonDecided to hit all the NE States they play on this tour and Head on down to Hrtfd.. Woo Hoo!I was one of the many photogs clogging the aisles early show. Great shot, think its my 5th or so time seeing the band, and they really do just keep getting better and better. Here are the photos I took. Was so happy to shoot the band again. during the band intros, one of my faves the rest are at wilco.empyrelounge.com.
badu2fan
nice photos. What camera are you using as detail in closeups is amazing... Do you shoot at a high iso. I assume it is digital. Wondering if you had tripod. Thanks
tinnitus photography
thanks! i use canon bodies, a 5D mark II and an original 5D. i think the lenses i mainly used were the 24-70 and 70-200, and ISO 1600 (5D) and maybe a bit higher on the 5D2. you can pretty much shoot up to 6400 on the 5D2 w/o too much worry of noise, as long as your exposure is spot-on. no tripods allowed, and monopods are pretty rarely allowed either. the 70-200 lens does have a 'image stabilization' feature which does help reduce any camera shake. tinnitus photography
nah, i'm not shooting hartford tonight. i tell you, it would be tough to get a good band/crowd interaction @ the orpheum, due to the layout and what the lighting was for the songs we could shoot (ie, getting the proper exposure for the band would mean the audience portion would be in relative blackness). Concord was no better (in fact, worse - i couldn't shoot from front of the house). i do agree that a photo w/ both the band and the fans is a good shot to get. not always possible, though. Oil Can Boyd
my review w/ photos from Tuesday:http://www.prefixmag.com/photos/wilco-the-orpheum-theatre-in-boston-picsreview/ A little late weighing in. As always, nice photos tinnitus. Not sure I have much to add. Great, great show.Highlights for me were One By One, Spiders, Laminated Cat, and Thank You Friends. I loved how they shared singing the verses on Thank You Friends. My only complaint was that I was over on the right and couldn't see Pat a lot of the time. Other than that, I would gladly do it again ...
tinnitus photography
I loved how they shared singing the verses on Thank You Friends. right on, and i was meaning to mention that. that was really cool. tbh, i thought the wilco version was better than the big star version.
