Sweet Papa Crimbo
To add insult to injury, on top of turning 50 next week and experiencing an existential crisis, I sprained my MCL and my ACL today. No chasing down a purse snatcher. No hard tackle by a roid crazed middle linebacker. I stepped in a hole and instead of rolling my ankle, I almost blew out a knee.Sweet. Oh yeah, that's another thing about getting older. That stuff just does not heal up like it used to either.
mountain bed
I hope I make it to 50. Whenever I see a calendar and remember that it's really 2010 I just cannot believe that I lived this long.

Be good to yourself and take it easy getting that healed! As for your birthday, have a wonderful blow-out (not your knee!) and celebrate wholeheartedly your existence upon this grand planet for half a century! Oh, the places you've been and the stories you can tell and the wisdom you've accrued! At 50, we know so much better what to prize and appreciate, and we see beauty in so many more things. Don't worry about this birthday...it's just a date, just a number. You'll continue being you. And you are uniquely wonderful and celebratable! HAPPY, HAPPY BIRTHDAY! moxiebean
Yesterday a local cashier asked me if I was eligible for a senior discount. (btw, I'm 46)
